It doesn't matter how long Newbon has been about, his always been ****. His always took himself too seriously and his questions when it comes too boxing, are always too simplistic. Sky should look at getting Paul Dempsey back although not likely. I would love to see Buncey on there but the man is too outspoken for these clowns.
Mary Whitehouse is next in line to replace Newbon... Sky need to go interactive, they need Bunce, they just won't do it because he says it as it is...:deal I think Quigg beats Frampton too...:good
I like Newbon, he has pedigree and knows the job inside out. Still, I would like to see Sky bring in the likes of Andy Kerr - who is a gem. It is clear they dont want Bunce, his face doesnt fit, but that is a big shame as The Big Daddy is the number one UK boxing pundit in my book and is always entertaining and knowlegable when he is covering a show.
I agree with most of this, especially the Bunce part, he's not everyones cup of tea but he has genuine enthusiasm and passion for the fights, comes out with some corking comments from time to time, maybe he's a bit too human for Sky.
I was critical of SKY not mentioning Carl Froch's fights last year - NOBODY on SKY can be critical of SKY, fact. That's the simple truth...the alternative is that I'm not good enough to compete with their stars in front of camera. Anybody remember their recent trio of journalists? And Kerr, you are right, is suffering by association with me. Richie Woodhall was the same - I sent emails to the two boss men at SKY pleading with them to use Richie. It took about a year before they started giving him a living. Now he is their best. Perhaps an alternative and interactive Boxing Hour will come soon...head-to-head with Ringside. Now, that will get their stars stuttering and spluttering! Adios.
That might be why they don't like u ..... Sending emails telling sky who too employ , surprised they didn't tell u too go **** yourself
I think Buncey need to realise that his 15 minutes of TV fame look to have sadly (for him) been and gone!! Not sure he is controversial just shouty to me.
15 minutes...this Thursday on the BBC London 94.9 Boxing Hour it will be the 75th consecutive show on a Thursday night! Nearly 500 guests including Lennox Lewis, Bernard Hopkins, Christy Martin, Gary Mason, Ricky Hatton, Amir Khan, Johnny Greaves, Luke Campbell and Don King! Odd 15 minutes! Adios. PS: It's 9-10pm this week and the same for the remainder of the summer.
