Very fast and has decent pop. Not a puncher but has good skills. One of my favorite prospects right now.

 

Nice fighter. Very impressed with this kid.

 

he has the talent to end a fight early, but, hes a extremely patient fighter

Very impressed with this guy. I'll be watching him as well.

 

I don't know about his power yet, it was hard to tell in that last fight. The guy he was fighting seemed to be in great shape, and also had a good chin as well. Those body shots he was breaking him down with would have taken him out if he wasn't in top condition. Could just be the guy was tough as nails, so I don't know. Punches sure sounded hard and looked crisp though.

Jury is still out for me in regard to the amount of power Russell possesses. I want to see more of him before I really decide.

 

Yeah, I really cannot wait to see this guy in the ring! I think his hands look faster than gamboa's if that is possible, plus he looked like he had a good set of skills . . . aaawwwww if he was only a heavywieght! lol

 

A very very very talented prospect.. he shows the strengths of other prospects like Kell Brooks, Mike Jones, Danny Garcia, Adrian Broner, but doesn't really bare any glaring weakness like they all do. (I'M NOT EVEN SURE WE CAN CALL THESE GUYS PROSPECTS ANYMORE... MAYBE CONTENDERS).... But with Russel Jr. you see all this but most importantly.. PATIENCE... so we will see as time goes by.. but he is def on my watch list always!

 

Seen a few of his fights. I think that I am most impressed with his composure. Of course he is very fast and has decent pop too. However, he is very smart about setting his punches up, fighting behind his jab, letting the fight open up in front of him, ect...

I know that he made the Olympic team, but then couldn't compete because he didn't make weight. I don't know if that says something about his motivation as a fighter, or if he simply couldn't make that weight anymore by the time Olympics came around.

 

I heard he literally passed out at the weigh-in, and they DQ'd him.
