Even though GRJ has not earned a title shot it will be good to see him in with either Lomachenko or Salido.

He waits forever to step up and then leaps all the way up?

    Very weirdly handled, Russell's career.

I watched a number of his amateur fights as well as his WSB fights. YouTube them.

Fair enough and good post. Good to have an exchange of opinions without the usual BS.

    cheers.

1 fight, no he fought in WSB semi pro style, and Gary didnt fight some opposition to benefit from his number of fights, I'm sure Lomachenko will beat him, but more sure Russell team will not let him fight Loma!

LOL accurate against who, he did not beat anyone, one thing is being accurate against C- fighters and against actually very very talented fighter like Lomachenko even if he just turned pro.
And by fighting low level opposition his defense is totally untested.

Russell has to get by the always dangerous Tamayo first.

I don't think he particularly deserves the winner and it's a bit of a steep step up for him, he should make a lighter step up first.

I just watched the Lomachenko - Ramirez fight, and I wouldn't say that it was such a huge leap forward.
If Russell doesn't have hand problems he should edge Lomachenko who has a good offensive game with more power, but is slower than Russell and lacks Russell's offensive timing and accuracy.
Ramirez is the same level of opponent that Russell has been facing and getting out of there in 1-2 rounds.

I would say that this is a step up in level of competition for both Lomachenko and Russell. Should be a good fight.

Based on Russell's fight against Miguel Tamayo, I give him no chance to defeat Lomachenko. As for the guy talking about Russell's timing and accuracy, it is not bad but not great either, and it is certainly nowhere near Loma's level. His movement is nothing special and Lomachenko's movement is unmatched at the weight class. In my opinion Lomachenko is 2 levels above this guy. I guess that we should just wait and see what happens.
