I doubt Broner will win a meaningful fight ever again. Broner cannot just bulk up and go down like you think. What are you basing that on? I have to wonder if he can even make 140 anymore.

Even if Broner stays in shape, he still has to fight, and that means throwing more punches. But so long as HE thinks he wins the fights he clearly lost, he won't learn, and he won't grow.

He would handle JW with not too much trouble, either.

Broner lost 30+ pounds for the bum he's fighting next.

Some other fighters are playing the same game as GRJ (he's just upfront about it). They're just acting the part for fans. The business doesn't favor us fans, unfortunately.

Good point. I know I'm being a tad selfish, being just a fan. I want to see them in the ring more often. But I guess this is the world of boxing we live in. Credit due to some of the younger guys who are active and want to face champs. But WTF is it with PBC and their rosters of talented fighters. They either fight rarely, or they fight no-hopers until they are 30YO. Or they decline title shots for some insane reason. Boxing would be better off w/o PBC IMO.

What standards lol,he epitomizes everything wrong with boxing at the moment at the highest levels, fighting only once a year against relative nobodies,in safety 1st options trying to mantain pretty record/hold onto title.

Well if you’ve been following Russel’s career this isn’t a big shock. He’s just gonna keep fighting guys that are barely good enough to give him a million dollar payday. He’s gonna retire with no legacy and he’s ok with that. Disappointing

Emanuel Navarrete is a great example of a champion being active. Al Haymon's getting these guys paid for low risk (as champs). Then you have casuals and "yes man" constantly applauding them and telling them their the best for protecting their '0'. No wonder they've lost their hunger! Not many boxers in this era are willing to take the hard route to becoming a champion like Marvin Hagler.

All in all, the promoters, managers, and networks are all intertwined and deserve plenty of blame.

Bulking up will ruin Broner, new techniques-science is revolutionizing boxing, now Broner understands that he doesn't have to change his weight, he can move up to 154 at his best weight (stamina), volume Timmy Tszyu & stop him like Hatton and Vince did his dad.

Broner is probably best walking around ~148, which means he can target anybody from 130lbs & up, but this requires Broner to stay in shape like Pacman does...if he takes every big fight possible, a big upset is bound to happen, it will not be considered "fluke" because after all Broner is a 4 division world champion & the big upset-win is the icing on the cake

He has hand problems, it's been pretty clearly getting worse every fight for a while. Those things compound. I would have loved to see him have a bigger, more active career but that's not in the cards.

Now he does still deserve blame for this, if he can only fight once a year that is what it is but this is a good one and I'm sure whatever fight we do get will be worse.

A Broner who stayed in shape and walked around at 148 would be an entirely different person. Did he even do that before he wandered off?

His mandatory is Rey Vargas, so that looks like its going to be his next fight.

    Not terrible actually.

Broner was walking around 148 when he was at Super-Featherweight, fat-shed-off he is still not far from that weight. All he needs to do is change supplements and develop stamina from within to get rid of the Anabolic side-effect of the common PEDs (slow withdrawal, but possible)

Talking about Broner Gary Russell Junior is a bulked-up Minimumweight, he made a career out of the minimumweight speed advantage. Did he need to bulk-up to beat everyone he beaten? The long layoffs is a negative side-effect of the PEDs maybe it also effects his mood-thinking...assuming that a sober GRJ is not the same GRJ, GRJ been on high-end PEDs longer than most boxers, mainly because he started bulking-up young & early as an Elite-level amateur.
