Broner is still active, he can easily get into the HOF by winning one big upset fight, that upset win on top of his early career 4 division championship will be the icing on the cake. He has always done this. His recent talk of "wanting to fight more often/everyone is ducking me" was shocking to me. It´s straight up BS.
Years ago, before GRJ faced Loma, he was offered numerous fights, including Ponce De Leon. What did Russell do back then? Said the exact same things as now and moved on.
Everyone always were below him. Even Loma. He said it before that fight. But he could not help himself getting a title shot off a guy who was 1-1 and had just lost to Salido.

What did surprise me was Russell taking a fight with Gonzales. That was a genuine surprise. But in hindsight, I think it had more to do with Haymon pushing for it that anything else.

Russell is a fraud. A talented mother****er but still a fraud.

 

At least he stepped up and made for intriguing fights.
