It wasn't the problem of fluidity, his footwork and movement were good, and defensively he was fairly slick and all that but he was just unable to keep Salido off him because of his jab (which I admit is very shitty).

GRJ is the guy who fights in a quite robotic style, jab jab jab while slowly moving forwards, get close do a combination, rinse and repeat.

Not crabs, but big money Lobster.

Klitscho fans were irrational because they bet the house that he would win.
Instead they got TKO6 and lost the house. :yep

Granted, the Loma-GRJ isn't as sure a bet and does present more risk, but still, the emotional content is there.

Used effectively, as is the case with Russell, that appears to be enough to beat Loma.

I think Gary's downfall in this fight will be his defense and footwork, he'll struggle with the movement of Lomachenko.. Can't say for sure though with Lomachenko having only 2 fights it's quite unclear how he'll deal with Gary's style so anything can happen.

I'm only basing my opinion on the two pro fights Loma has had.
In his first fight we saw him move, but his movement wasn't any different than the other low level fighters that Russell has faced.
I actually believe Gusev has better movement and footwork.

In his second fight, I saw no real movement at all. He spent half the fight allowing Saildo to walk in and then hugging Saildo for over half the round.
If Russell just jabs, jabs, jabs, then Loma doesn't jab at all.
Russell does mix up punches with his jab. He may jab and hook, or jab inside and follow with combinations.

    Only concerns I have are;

    1. Russell's hands. Will they stand up to bouncing off of Loma's skull?

    2. Russell's punch resistance. Never seen him hit with many combinations, and I'm not really sure if Loma can succeed in hitting him with many while avoiding counters.

Either way, this would be a good fight to see if Russell rises or falls in the expectations everyone has been watching for.

As if we needed any more proof that the guy doesn't know anything about boxing.

Now we have the Lomachenko haters. He beat Salido, Salido could not land on Lomachenko's head, almost all of Salido's punches landed on Lomachenko's legs, balls, hips, etc., plus Salido had the Laurence Cole to help him out as Salido hit on the break many times. Cole also helped Salido when Salido was hurt in the 12th round. Laurence Cole beat Lomachenko..........

I was HERE on the site during that time.
I know the reactions, the let down, and the excuses. :yep

That fight was very profitable. My only regret is not betting more.

I just hope the GRJ-Lomachenko fight is made.
I'd like to GRJ finally step up and prove his real talent to the world.
