Why is a 1-1 fighter who was gifted a title shot ordered to fight for another title?? His biggest accomplishment as a pro is losing to Salido.

They say it's because he gave under-trained, over weight, B level Saildo a close match.
Had he clearly beaten Saildo and got robbed by the judges, I might understand, but that clearly wasn't the case. He clearly lost. So, why he is being given another free-ride is nothing short of historic and a got damn shame to the sport.

If the Russell fight happens, I'd be leary of the scoring, but I'm sure Haymon is aware of this.

Because he beat a contender in his debut to earn a ranking and a title shot, and then he lost a SD to a fighter who cheated and didn't even bother making weight? What's GRJ' biggest accomplishment as a pro? People are ****ing ******ed if they're questioning Lomachenko's place in this bout instead of GRJ.

Don't forget, Loma almost KO'd Salido. If he would have gotten bust early, he would have.

A paper title? Don't forget that Salido is Garcia's and Gamboa's best win, neither had an easy time with him and that was a Salido with an in ring weight of 140, not 147. Salido didn't foul them constantly either. Lomachenko hurt Salido and was unlucky to lose an SD. Oh but the number says 1-1

 The number is 1-1 because he deserved the loss.

Neither Gamboa or Garcia, the professionals, choose to dance with him all night and that is why they both WON their matches with him.

Loma fought the wrong amateur fight and no surprise, lost.
Now, he has a deserved 1-1 record.

G.R.J is just pissed off because the WBO didn't pick the legitimate contender TBA.

Even if he did deserve the loss (he didn't) it was an SD against a cheating 147lb fighter and an incompetent ref. That 'loss' dwarves GRJ' career many times over. Lomachenko didn't take any punishment, he landed more punches and he hurt Salido. Salido was hanging on for his life, he was never in trouble like that against Garcia or Gamboa. Lomachenko should've thrown more and pressed sooner, but he showed that he was a class above and showed why they were so confident in rushing him to a title shot.
Sure some morons are going to care that he has a loss on his record but to people who actually follow the sport it's irrelevant, it's the quality of opposition. When Lomachenko goes on to beat Rigo, Garcia etc. then nobody is going to give a **** about the Salido fight. Actually that's not true, dummies like you will probably look at his 6-1 record and claim that he still doesn't deserve a title shot at that point.
Anyway, the GRJ fight is a good step down in class from Salido. Hopefully GRJ' chin isn't as bad as the rumours say and he can give Lomachenko a few more pro rounds.

Like many boxing fans, I was excited to watch Loma in this match.
I had heard so many good things about his amateur career, I expected to see the emergence of a new boxing talent on the scene.
Instead what I saw was a amateur fighting an amateur fight.

What I read from you above, are excuses why this amateur failed to take advantage of the free ride he had been given fighting for a world title in only his 2nd pro fight.
Saildo fouled Loma mainly because Loma allowed Saildo to do so.
Instead of adapting to Saildo, Loma continued to allow Saildo inside where he was free to foul some more.
Loma actually helped Saildo by staying inside and clinching.
I saw a fighter who uses no jab. Against a fighter like Saildo, a jab is important. Where was it. They do use the jab in amateurs, right.

That Saildo was out-of-shape and over weight was obvious at weigh-in. That he got tired in the last rounds and got hurt shouldn't be a surprise.
    Enough of the excuses.
If Loma fights another fighter who punches more accurately than Saildo and uses that inside distance that Loma allows, and if he still never uses his jab, I'm afraid that Loma will be in for more trouble. Soon to be, 1-2.

Free ride is what GRJ has for this fight. Lomachenko beat a contender to earn his ranking, GRJ just patiently waited it out while beating up TBA. You have no credibility when you talk like that and then claim that GRJ has done anything.
Enough of the excuses for Salido, he cheated and still got beat up by a much smaller guy. Salido said before the fight that win or lose he intended to move up to 130, which is why he had no regard for making weight. He was losing the title either way so he decided to give himself every advantage he could.

Lomachenko uses his jab as a range finder, much the same way Rigo does.
Only boxing noobs go on about the jab, it's important if you can't fight on the inside and you're trying to maintain distance as the bigger guy, but elite fighters often use it purely as a set up for their power shots. Lomachenko wants the fight on the inside because that's where he dominates with body punches and uppercuts usually. Against Salido we didn't see it until the final rounds because of his pacing and trying to parry shots aimed at his hips, legs and testicles throughout the fight.

If he fights GRJ then it's a massive step-down, GRJ is nothing more than a journeyman at best. You think GRJ has a good jab, when it's his jab that makes him a predictable fighter. Learn boxing, make sure you hang around after Lomachenko destroys GRJ.
