The addition was wrong it should have been 79-73. unless he gave a 10-8 Round to Russell. I had the same score 79-73 7 Rounds to 1.
yes, if a round is onesided enough, they can make it a 10-8 round You have to land a bunch and not get hit much for it to happen. Miranda had only landed 25 punches going into to 7th round so I guess it was ok, but I didn't see one round that was a big blowout. Lederman gave a 10-8 round to Floyd in round 2 vs Gatti and round 6 [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KCd8GdRzfM[/ame]
that wouldn't make the score 79-72 tho...79-72= 7 rounds of 10 points and one round of 9 (79) - 8 rounds of 9 points (72)
I was wondering that myself. The only way they could have arrived there is if they scored it 7-0-1 in round to Russell but erroneously scored the even round 9-9 instead of 10-10. So, Russell gets 70 points for winning 7 rounds plus the 9 points in the "drawn" round. Miranda gets 63 points for his 7 lost rounds plus 9 for the one "drawn". Basically, Larry Ingle doesn't know how to score. Unfortunately there is no oversight or accountability with pro judges and even blatant errors have to count officially and can not be altered once submitted.
