scum of the earth representatives in boxing today. Gary Shaw told us that loyalty is the reason why the Donaire-Darchinian II won't happen. He blatantly said to us fans last night, fuk you fans, I'm looking out for my pockets and my own popularity. Arum wouldn't give us Williams-AM II. He was going to give Williams peanuts to go up in weight to fight the middleweight champ(Pav), and because Haymon/Williams wanted more money, that is why we didn't, and won't get Williams-AM II. Arum blames Haymon for the silliest reason which we all know is the phoniest reason to keep your fighters safe...in his head. That is how Arum thinks. You won't see Williams-Cotto either. And worst of all, we are not getting Pav-Abraham. These two guys are the scum of the earth. Boxing deserves these fights.
I don't necessarily think Shaw is looking out for himself financially by not pairing up Darchinyan with Donaire. It would be a good payday for both Vic and Shaw. It's more of an issue with ego; Shaw is upset that Donaire kicked him to the curb and as a result, his idea of retribution would be to deprive both boxing fans as well as Nonito and Vic an opportunity for a great fight.
Until the real issue is brought up, we won't ever know both sides. Shaw just sounded like an *******, and even Gray had to question his ethics lol...
All promoters are scum, but Arum has been giving fight fans the best fights and value for their money than any other promoter as of late. I'm pissed off that Cotto and Pavlik comeback fights are PPV though....if you ask me, Lou DiBella and Frank Warren are about as bad as it gets as far as protecting their fighters and plain out sleaziness.
Frank Warren is the worst, by far. My favourite is Mick Hennessy. I used to hate the guy but he is really delivering ATM.
1 good payday means little when your cashcow gets slaughtered. Its a long-term decision. Promoters are about $, not ego.
I think Vic would probably just get knocked out again...and Shaw knocks that most likely that would happen and then Vic would be damaged... So why put him in that fight when most likely he would loose and you can't control the fighter he loses to? Its economics at the fans/sports expense. Yes he would make good money off the fight but but he would lose money on future fights once Vic loses...
Always hated Shaw, arrogant bell. What made me despise him was when he said Kimobo Slice would beat either Klitschko at a boxing match.
Shaw is not very popular. if you want to get a good laugh just look at the post fight interview of the lacy -calzaghe fight. he look broken. not to mention how joe rubbed it in his face the man has never forgotten that.
If Arum is so evil and not wanting to match his fighters against guys from other stables why have we gotten/getting over the last 6 months: Margarito-Mosley Pac-Oscar Arce-Darchinyan Pac-Hatton Pavlik-Hopkins
at the end of the day its the fighters decision on who they fight if vic wants nonito bad enough he'll get him shaw cant and probably wont stop it if vic refruses to even consider anybody else it was the same with margo but he obviously was in no hurry to fight paul again and hey shaw had a point he can get montiel, vasquez or marquez so its not all bad
shaw doesnt want vic near nonito just like arum doesnt want pac near guzman before... they are both wise business men...they are scum but they do know how to make money...
