Nah sorry i meant Green not being able to do anything to Tarver. I think Tarver just wasn't motivated for that fight against muriqi, that might have happened if he fought Green aswell but it still would've been enough for tarver to win, Green doesn't hit hard, forget what you heard. And Muriqi has more boxing skills than Green in my opinion.

I disagree, who has Green showed one punch power against? He couldn't keep Beyer down and his chin isn't all that, who else did he KO who wasn't rubbish? Most of his KO's have come from beating guys down with his strength, he is strong and determined but he cannot punch, maybe if he could relax in the ring abit and let his punches flow he could KO guys properly. Where is the evidence of his punching power? The Beyer knockdowns? He got the stoppage win against Lucas, that was Greens best fight but Lucas just wasn't prepared that night, he gave up. Green has never come close to even beating a top guy, let alone KO someone who isn't garbage. He believes his own hype about punching power and tries too hard for the KO regardless of who he is fighting, that's his only plan in a fight.

 

Come on... Tarver... you can put a fork in him, he is done.

That guy is clearly looking for one last payday before he retires and for that, he needs to stay undefeated until he can get his ass whooped by Dawson. Lots (not the majority, but lots) of people were giving Green a good chance to win this fight... meaning this was not such a good fight for Tarver because you're right when you say that Green is not a big player on the international level so loosing to Green would have meant the end of the road for Tarver.

And one last thing. Gary Shaw is not reknown in boxing for his honesty.

Ive have to agree with a lot of that.

I think Green's power was overrated after the Lucas fight and probably rightly so because you cant really take into account unverified reports of injuries, fact is he made a very hard jawed individual quit from only a couple of rounds of punishment.

But there have been times he has got guys flush and they are still standing. I think its usually intense pressure that causes people to fold not fight turning power.

I think Danny's lack of KO power comes mainly from his robotic technique and lack of killer speed. He rarely catches someone with a punch they didnt see because you kind of know where he is going to place it.

The Brad Mayo KD was an example of him actually catching someone offguard. He hung his left low to bait him to throw the right and hit him with a quick hook when Brad was coming in, he had Mayo in all sorts but the fight should have went on.

I dont know about Shaw, at one point he was a powerful and respected figure but then people starting leaving him, fights started falling through and promises never came to fruition.

I hear plenty of reports that paint Shaw in a bad light, but in this business there is always two sides to the story.

 

Shaw seems to give alot of our Aussie boys a chance over recent years, but i never really considered him as 1 of the top promoters.
He has a solid stable, but it seems alot of his fighters fall slightly short.
Chad Dawson is not being very well managed by him IMO at all.

 

Got to agree,who does Gary Shaw think he is.Danny HASBEEN would have slapped Tarver bigtime,Danny has bounced back well after copping a "close points loss" to the "MAN".

HASBEEN has got nothing other than a bad haircut,HASBEEN hangs off tradesmens belts with the rest of the TOOLS.

Whats got more points a TRIANGLE or HASBEENS scorecard against MUNDINE,give it to HASBEEN by split decision.
