Gary Shaw hopes for Bute-Dirrell this summer!

Still no unification?

Why can't he just rematch Andrade already in the summer, beat him and then unify with Froch.

Why he's dragging up Andre Dirrell? He's a good fighter and it's a fight I'd be interested in, but I'd much rather see a unification fight between Bute & Froch when he beats Jermain Taylor.

 

i wouldnt mind seeing that but i want to see that fat **** making the rematch between Vic and Donaire happen.

 

I speculated this in another thread when Andrade said he'd take another tune up fight before Bute.

Basically we could see something like Inkin/Andrade and Dirrell/Bute?

 

Well for one, there's no guarantee that Froch beat Taylor.

Other than though it SOUNDS like Andrade is in no rush to cash in his mandatory. He mentioned taking another fight before they rematch so it's LIKELY that they'll match the two up on the same card before heading up for their mandatory clash.

You also have the 800 lb gorilla in the room in Mikkel Kessler.

 

Well, the winner of Froch/Taylor. I can't see why Andrade & Bute don't make the rematch now, no point in taking extra fights, they aren't going to learn anything in those fights, and it's holding up unification proceedings. The IBF should order the rematch now.

As you Kessler, I'd include him, but unfortunately he seems out of the picture for the moment due to his promoter's being shite. Hope he sorts it out soon, he needs to get his arse Stateside and get a real promotor, because he could easily take Calzaghe's place as the 168 undisputed champion.

 

Well there HAD been talk of Kessler-Taylor/Froch winner and Kessler will bring more money if the fight is in Denmark or in the US.

Chances are that Bute-Andrade will tune up, rematch and while that's going on...Kessler will find a way to get tied into a unification fight with Froch/Taylor and then pull out at the last minute, teasing us.

 

This would be a great fight. Hell yeah.

I'd love to see this one. Shaw might just be talking big though, as he's prone to do. Dirrell will soon be named mandatory against Balszay, so the only reason he'd make a legitimate offer for this one is if he thinks Dirrell has a better chance of beating Bute than Balszay. I haven't seen Balszay fight, so I'll reserve judgment, but the reports didn't make him sound like a master boxer.

Anyway, I'd slightly favor Bute on experience, but I could see Dirrell knocking him out early, or Bute blowing Dirrell away on points because he doesn't move the right way to face a southpaw, or a close competitive fight where the outcome wouldn't be clear until the scores are announced.

 

I don't think it's going to happen. I think it will take a year before they'll throw Dirrell into the world title mix. And Bute is all wrong for him, although Andre is very good and this fight promises fireworks.

So bring it on, cut that last learning year!
