From Dan Rafael "Richard says the WBC has ordered an immediate rematch. And if Pascal doesn't do it (and, say , opts to rematch with Dawson) he would be stripped." "Bat Email from Gary Shaw regarding the status of Pascal-Dawson 2 in that the WBC ordered a Pascal-Hopkins rematch: "They can order what ever they want, my contract gives me next fight. Period end of story." This should get interesting." So what happens now? Do Dawson's people demand step-aside money? Would Dawson really force a non-title rematch with Pascal, who would be stripped if he doesn't rematch Hopkins? Has the WBC even made an official announcement? Will they?
Wasn't this a voluntary defence? I didn't think boxing commissions could demand rematches unless the defence in question was a mandatory.
I think Hopkins knows he can't beat Dawson. That's why he jumped on Pascal when he called him out, and not Dawson.
the contract relating to 1st Pascal-Dawson fight stated that Pascal could take a fight before a rematch with Dawson. Dawson is now mandatory I believe.
Whether you agree with the decision for the Hopkins and Pascal fight, Pascal is legally contract binded to fight Chaddy no matter what. Sulaiman is just a cronie of Bob Arum and they can take that belt where it doesn't shine but the matter of the fact is by law Pascal will have to fight Chaddy next. Dawson was turning it up in the later rounds and was on his way to knocking the canada guy out but like we all saw tonight and in the Bute versus Andrade fight, Canada screws over American fighters. The Dawson versus Pascal rematch is the fight that everyone wants to see and Oscar and his mafia runned promotions can wait in line and have Bernard fight Pascal after Chaddy knocks Pascal out.
