Now c'mon! That's crazy... Instead of praise the great fighters and the great trilogy he's complaining about the point deduction in the 10th (3 low blow warnings before) and the KD in the 12th (ropes held up Rafael, fight could've been stopped anyway).

It's not the result that matters but that they made one of the best trilogy ever. They, Marquez and Vazquez, not Shaw. Gary was the promoter, and he had the privilege to help the WBC decide the judges, to set the ring size etc. in favor to HIS fighter and now he's complaining? How's that?!

Let me tell you what is the only complaint he should make in public: that he paid only 425k for his fighter who risked his life for the 3rd time! How about that? You can argue with the decision, you say what you want. But filing a protest to the WBC to change the result is very unfair to the rightful winner, Israel Vaqzuez.

Then again: he should be happy that we saw and he made one of the best trilogies ever but now he looks like an idiot who can’t deal with his fighter’s loss... which isn’t really a loss but a first class ticket to the HOF...

    C'mon Gary! Forget this sh.t! :-(

Next fight needs a hype. Why not!? He does what good promoter should exactly do.

You think the next fight needs MORE hype than the trilogy already provided? A good promoter takes a good think and runs with it, not ruin it.

He's just backing his fighter. It's most likely to create even more controversy for a possible 4th fight....in which Shaw should promote to his fullest ability. If anything to show those unfamiliar with boxing and the anti-boxing critics (Joe Rogan) what boxing has to offer.

Question: Does anyone recall a promoter protesting a fight and changing the outcome, or something of that sort where the loser and his camp receive some kind of reward??

Well to change the CORRECT calls of the referee and therefore change the result - I've never heard of anything like that. The referees (and judges at ringside) are delegated by the organization itself so as they are the representatives of the WBC, the official decision of a penelty, 8 count, scoring etc. is what they call. They didn't change the horrible Casamayor-Santa Cruz decision and this one is a correct decision as well as a correct call of the referee in the 10th and 12th round.

But at these organizations, anything is possible, so you never know. But as far as I see, the work of the referee and the judges were excellent and no mistakes was made... so the result should remain the same.

a good promoter would find a better match up for Marquez to earn money.
Another Vazquez fight could leave raffy's brain injured.
