At least it's not for the title that would have been wrong in my eyes. I don't mind these fights in between defences for fighters.

 

The meltdown on here if Sykes beat him would be comical.

Sykes is up against it but Broner certainly isn't anything special.

 

I agree. Sykes hadn't deserved a title shot I'd love to see him win this now though.:good

 

Broner is an elite fighter. Skykes is getting sparked in 2 rounds. fair play to him for taking the fight.

 

With the amount of exciting fights that Sykes has provided us with, I'm happy that he is getting a fantastic opportunity like this.

Agreed. I can't see it being competitive or lasting long, but stranger things have happened in boxing.

 

Sykes will need to knock him out.

He's not beaten anyone of note hardly.

People just buy into American fighters because they're unbeaten, have a few KOs and TV are ramming them down everyone's throat.

I'm not for one minute saying Sykes has beaten an elite fighter or will ever be one himself, but it's a good opportunity for him here - one that you can't turn down.

 

I'm pretty convinced Sykes would get a pasting in this fight, but it's still one that he should grab with both hands if he gets the chance. Massive opportunity.

 

I'd be delighted for Sykes if this came off - although would not give him much of a chance - but I am amazed that Broner's team have picked him. There must be plenty of opponents out there with better records who are just as well known to the American fans.
