About half the sites have even odds, the others Gassiev a miniscule favourite. The one exception is Ladbrokes where Usyk is still a slight favourite.

That’s absurd! Such things do not happen in boxing especially on such a high profile match!

Really close matchup, I think it's a 50-50 fight. I like both boxers, I'm not rooting for one or the other.

But I have a gut feeling Gassiev is going to win with a late KO/TKO.

This fight for all the belts and linear cruiserweight championship is great for the sport of boxing.

lol, a difference that minuscule in a line between two fighters means literally nothing. Trying to split two fighters using just the betting line is as helpful as reading tea leaves. Wouldn't put too much thought into it.

Gassiev is a Dagestani, Putin and Russia doesn't care if he wins or not. And like Klitschko, Usyk is Ukrainian, yet Wlad beat Povetkin wide in is backyard. The bookies as usual are being impressionable idiots.

Dropping odds are relevant in every sports out there, especially in 1vs1 sports like Boxing, MMA, Tennis and so on. I think market did overreact a bit, yes but Gassiev dropped from +250 to fav. This is a huge movement.

Shows that he opened at +215. And just because one bookie out there had him as a two to one underdog for a hot second doesn't mean much. Where a line closes is substantially more important and relevant than where a line opens up. There's a reason plenty of gamblers solely bet on openers, taking advantage of often straight up mispriced bouts.

Actually the opening odds were in strongly Usyk's favour, I think it's more the cash flow that caused the odds to become even. In which case it's the punters who are (on average) being impressionable, nothing new there ;)

Good for him, but that's irrelevant, he's still from Dagestan.

    Proboxingodds is a crap site.
They only show the odds for Usyk vs Gassiev that were published after the fight was on for the second time. There were odds before that and Gassiev opened at +230, raised to +240 and +250 (small movement) and then odds were removed because there was no date, no venue and so on.

Of course the ending line is relevant, too but the market movement is the significant sign. I am betting a lot on tennis for almost a decade and i can say the movement is more important than anything else.

But in that case we have a strong indicator why the odds dropped massively because it was the case after it was clear that they fight in Russia. After it was published to the media the odds on Gassiev dropped from over +200 to the current line.
