Anber is a Renaissance man that does many things in boxing incl. training, hand wrapping, treating cuts, commentating, advising and been around the gym for many big names. He's perfectly okay for an Usyk-aged, intelligent, experienced fighter who calls his own shots. Physical preparation hardly depends on Anber, sparring is sparring and Team Usyk comes up with the plan, so he's not that needed anyway, but good to keep around.

Well I'll say this. When Usyk fought Hunter he looked very ordinary and theres Amber in the corner giving him crap advice with a bad made up Slavic accent which was comical to boot. So no I dont think it's a good idea going into the biggest fight of your life with a freaking hand wrapping cut man. If u think that's ok your outta your mind.

 

Kinda reminds me of Hatton dumping his long term trainer Graham & then having Floyd Snr as his trainer when he fought Manny...Not saying Floyd is not a good trainer but no way could he be expected to change Hattons style,..well ever, just the wrong fit...this looks the same ?

 

Yea it does. Amber was useless in the Hunter fight and from the vids I've seen it looks like Usyk is running his own camp. I hope I'm wrong about that. As a person with Ukrainian heritage I want to see a big win I just hope he surrendered himself with the rite people.

 

You're right, Anber isn't a good trainer. Surely Usyk could have found someone better.

 

Usyk was running his own camp (it was on the outskirts of Kiev at the Olympic sports base), in fact, but Russ Anber was there as well.
I’m sure Anatoly Lomachenko helped him (as a consultant) to plan for the fight. There are speculations that “Papachenko” will even be in the Usyk’s corner on Saturday, but I personally highly doubt that.

 

I hope he will be in his corner or somebody with more knowledge than Amber adleast.

 

great fights like this a far and few in between and i dont even no if ill be able to watch it with out dishing out more money for sum bs streaming crap . dont like these new changes. i like it best when it was all hbo and showtime. this espn crap is suspect. and this new dazn this im not to high on it either. now i gotta make another purchase for this klowd tv .. most likely ill be stuck at work because im assuming this fight will take place early.
