Usyk doesn't want it in Russia. And its perfectly understandable as to why.
But what is most odd is that Russia seems to be the only place where the fight can happen because of the money.
WBSS dropped the ball. They made promises they could not keep. Russia wasn't the end game. They came to the table after Gassiev-Dorticos.
That money was not available before that fight.

    Usyk can suck it up.

Imagine if Eubank Jr was in the final and wouldn't fight unless the fight was in London because he had been promised it. He would get torn to shreds if he was playing these games.

If it is in the best interest of the tournament to break even then he can suck it up. Maybe the Jeddah money doesn't exist anymore, who knows. Usyk can't demand the location of the final

Gassiev must be a very scary man for Usyk to not want to face him

Usyk will face anybody he just wants a level playing field. He is planning on challenging Joshua after he moves up too.

Professional boxing is organized where it makes most sense pal. Usyk can very well counter the Russians offer if he can come up with better numbers, otherwise it should happen where every singe boxing event in history: where it makes the biggest buck.

Anything else is an excuse from Usyk, politics (which has no place in sports), judging (Usyk was lucky to walk away with the win in his last fight) or anything else.

These guys are relatively unknown so it wont make that much money elsewhere. In USA they would make a fraction of what they could in Russia.

One possible neutral venue would be Germany. It could do ok there perhaps.

I like both fighters but if they have the money to organize the fight in Russia then Usyk has either to agree with that or make counter offer to stage it in Ukraine.

Other than that people saying that Usyk will challenge AJ at Heavyweight later on.Well AJ will want the fight in the UK as well and it will make most money there again so Usyk will have to get used ot it i guess. He already fought Briedis in Latvia etc.Just make it happen and ask for extra money or smth.

Only losers fight in the other guy's backyard.

    Usyk isn't a loser.

    I'm surprised the Saudi's aren't interested.

    Or Montecarlo.

    Sarcasm?

50% of fighters fight in the opponent's backyard, yet Crawford, Lomachenko or Golovkin come out victorious. Is Usyk a Ward or is Usyk one of the above?

I don't blame Usyk for not wanting to fight in Russia, he would have to fight Gassiev and both Trump and Putin to win a fight in Russia for sure!

The problem there is with the weather. In summer the temperature is ridiculously high even at night. And the plan was to have the fight in the open air..

ya you also have to factor in if these two guys had a fight in vagas the judges may decide they both lost and declare andre war the winner.
