Nancy Grace only has time for young atractive women, Michael Jackson or todlers.

    I can't stand that *****.

As to the story, what did you expect, it got some run but half of ESPN's audience doesn't know who the **** Gatti is.

Boxing will come back in this country only becuase the Hispanic immigration will eventually reach numbers where they can carry the sport back to mainstream relavence. World wide boxing is doing just fine.

I dont know how it is in america, but here in europe the tragic death of Gatti gets more attention in the media, then the death of Farrah Fawcett got...

Michael Jackson was perhaps the best known star in the world, and nobody would get more attention then him.

I think it is worse when you go into a site like cnnsi.com, the only thing you can read is all sort of MMA crap...

i thought it got plenty of media attention actually

as for the don king fight, before the main event, they tolled the ten count for arguello, gatti and michael jackson... maybe the writer missed that although it was made explicitly clear by jimmy lennon jr

I agree and I disagree. When "bad" things happen in boxing I always look to see how ESPN will play it. I think ESPN covered the Gatti killing more than any other recent bad thing you can look at. They even did a tribute to him on ESPN Classic the next day. It wasn't anything special, as it was just some of his biggest fights. As in, they didn't talk about him, or anything, but this is MORE than what I've become used to. Also, my wife's mother called shortly after I found out to tell me that they reported on FoxNews that Gatti had been murdered.

In truth, Gatti wasn't the biggest "star" in boxing. If a bigger name were to die, and I don't want to jinx anyone, but I'll say, Mike Tyson, every news channel in the country would play that as soon as they found out. Is that what the writer of the story wants? I'm confused. It was a decent piece, but he appears to be grabbing at straws just a bit.

$20 says that if Brock Lesner or Chuck Liddell died it would be all over the news.

I doubt it. MMA is still a niche sport, its growing but it is far from mainstream.

I know Liddell from some reality show, but i dont who Lesner is, and i dont care. MMA is unheard of in most of europe, Holland has a MMA scene, thats it...

Well not like Michael Jackson coverage but we would be hearing alot about it, I think was watching Univision (or some spanish channel) when they mentioned Arguello's suicude and then they never said anything more about him (or I missed all of it).
