Yes, I know people will say Hagler-Hearns and they might say Zale-Graziano…

…but even if fight footage turned up of either Zale-Graziano battle, I’m not sure it would be better than this one.

    Thoughts?

I actually felt Arturo Gatti put up a good fight against Oscar De La Hoya which was only a 5 round fight before he got TKO'd.

Hagler v Hearns, two of the best fighters ever going toe to toe, the crowd was electric during that 1st round.

One of my favorite Gatti fights, more so than the Ward fights IMO.

I would say that some of the best fights to last 6 rounds or less off the top of my head are:
    George Foreman vs Ron Lyle
Israel Vazquez vs Rafael Marquez II
    Miguel Cotto vs Ricardo Torres
Edwin Rosario vs Jose Luis Ramirez II
    Alex Arthur vs Michael Gomez
    Manny Pacquiao vs JMM IV

Yeah, these are all really great ones and I’d say they all have an argument along with Hagler-Hearns and the two Zale-Graziano fights (but who really knows how those match up).

I’d probably say Vasquez-Marquez 2 from your list is maybe as good, although I still rate Gatti-Rodriguez slightly higher. Gatti-Ruelas was pretty damn good as well, just not quite as good as the Rodriguez fight imo.

Benn-Logan in 1988 was the one. Described in The Ring as the ‘British Hagler-Hearns’.

Benn found a punch from down by his boot laces while on the way down from being knocked out himself! So much natural power!

    Bert Cooper vs Michael Moorer
    Carl Thompson vs Ezra Sellers
    Alex Stewart vs Ezra Sellers
    Mark Prince vs Michael Gale

But the best one I've seen is Travis Dickinson vs Matty Clarkson, see it live on the TV and seems to have disappeared from history never been uploaded.

Great shout on Rosario-JL Ramirez II. One of my favorite fights.

I just watched this fight for the first time in many years.
Gatti won that fight in the second round when a jab to the body made Rodriguez react- shortly after Gatti landed a hook to the body. After that Rodriguez didn't move well, his punches got wider, he stood in on exchanges longer and started getting hit clean shots.
He rallied a couple of times but the referee was allowing Gatti to hit Rodriguez low - really low, on the thighs, wherever- whenever he felt like it. No doubt in my mind that those fouls were deliberate. Rodriguez should have returned the favor, or thumbed him.

I’m not sure he had the fight won that early. He was knocked down in the second and had the ring doctor visit between rounds and again after the third. It looked quite likely to be stopped between the 2nd and 4th.

The turning point was after Rodriguez battered Gatti in the corner in the 4th. The ref could have legitimately stopped it then and there but Gatti somehow managed to rally and at the bell, he stood there defiant while Rodriguez gave him a look as though he thought ‘This guy’s crazy.’ That was the moment that Gatti won.

I really enjoyed that one. Scrappy and Littles had no discipline and fouled a lot but just an unexpected war.
