You may say the trend about attaching siginificance to weight is ridiculous, but there's a REASON for it. Yes, even a 4lb weight. Historically it's been proven important, especially for one-punch punchers that are career fighters in one weight class. And for every Tito Trinidad there are several Nigel Benn's. Hell, Hearns struggled to stop fighters at 154. You have NO basis for assuming Hamed would be as devastating at 130.

So despite 36 wins and 31 KOs - one of the most devastating competitive KO ratios in boxing history...it all comes down to the weight?

you honestly think a 4lb hitch in weight would stifle Hamed's power at all?

do you think Gatti would just take one of those fleeting punches Naz would launch from ten yards away, at 130 lbs, but get floored at 126?

also, the fighters which fail to impact powerfully in upper divisions a) don't tend to be the most devastating punchers in boxing history (like Naz) and b) tend to struggle after several divisions - not 4lbs!

Can you name me a devastating puncher which couldn't get a knock down after a 4lb jump?

I think Naz would win this one,Gatti is the type of guy Naz would pick to fight.Comes forward and likes to trade punches.Naz would have had a field day with him.And its not as if Naz had trouble going rounds so if Gatti was able to take the big shots early on he would not tire Naz out and would still be taking big punches late in the fight.
