Gatti/Ward is the most overrated trilogy of all time.

well, you're comparing it to Ali/Frazier. That right there means you must think it's a great trilogy.

I truly believe that the trilogy was excellent but that many purists feel it's overrated because neither of the boxer's are on anyone's ATG lists. Gatti's in many people's top 25 at JWW but many people consider Ward to be a crude, body hunting journeyman. I disagree but that's why many people 'overrate' the trilogy.:bbb

this is just foolishness. You dont always have to be elite to perform great at any given time. What made the three fights great wasnt the fact that they were two great fighters, but the fact they they had three great fights. End of story.

    They had ONE great fight.

What was so good about the 2nd fight? It was an okay fight with one guy getting schooled. Gatti won 9-1, maybe 10-0. The rubber match was pretty good with a terrific 7th round, but one-sided as well. Ward won 2 rounds against a guy with one hand. The only rounds he won were when Gatti broke his hand and when he scored a KD at the end of the round after getting outboxed for the first 2:55 of the round.

Gatti-Ward was a good fun rivalry, but not even the best one Gatti was involved with.

    Gatti-Robinson > Gatti-Ward

    Robinson-Gatti 1 = Gatti-Ward 1 > Robinson-Gatti 2 > Gatti-Ward 3 > Gatti-Ward 2

i'd say gatti-ward 1 is ahead of robinson-gatti 1 and you could find room in there for ward-augustus and ward-neary

what do u exactly expect from a Fight?
I expect everything from skill, slug fest , controversy, dull and shut out domination!

The Gatti - ward fights were entertainment at its finest!

It will never compete to some Elite Boxing performance, but share excitement and fun, yes!!

    Rememeber..Mathew Saad Muhammad??

Prime example of a bad Mayweather fan. Displaying the typical, "I'm a boxing purist cause PBF is a pure boxer, everything else is not boxing".

I still think you are playing some kind of parody about the typical bad Mayweather fans, because you fit too much of the stereotype to be real.

my autographed micky ward glove is one of my most prized possessions

  13. A great fight does NOT require great fighters. Gatti/Ward trilogy as a whole isn't the greatest of all time....but that first fight is definitely up there by itself. One of the most entertaining scraps I've ever seen... High re-watch value.
