vaz/mar for sure the level of skill in this rivalry was higher than the gatti/ward rivalry in my opinion

    Marquez vs Vazquez easily.

All three were very hard fought, close fights that got better as the trilogy went on.

Gatti vs Ward I was a good fight with one great round, the rematch was a schooling, no need at all for a 3rd fight.

This. Not to mention the skill level displayed was at a higher level.

Yep, pretty much all that needs to be said.

  7. Gatti-Ward was a war because of a dearth of skill on both sides.
Marquez-Vazquez was a war because of a plethora of skill on both sides.

I don't really understand how this question can even be asked with a straight face.

Most rounds in Gatti/Ward I were really good. The 5th, 8th, 9th and 10th were all brilliant. The 9th was one of the very greatest rounds ever. I agree that there shouldn't have been a rematch but in hindsight, I'm glad we saw it. That was another really good fight though the second was too one-sided, I agree.

I choose Vazquez/Marquez. It's the greatest trilogy of all time, I think, because of the quality of the fighters, the fights and the lack of decisiveeness. All three fights could have a "...but" following them. The nose, the stoppage, the point deductions/knockdown. It has had everything a rivalry can have, except the huge acclaim but at least boxing fans know how great it's been.

cant do it. dont know. Vas/Mar was more technical gatti/ward was more of who can withstand the more flush punishment.

Vasquez/Marquez EASILY. Vasquez and Marquez are two A class quality fighters that decide to mix it up because they truly want to prove to one another who's the better guy and please the fans. The exchange in style with skills.

Gatti/Ward are two tomato can quality opponents throwing wild punches all night.

Because there's the race fact. Two white guys and two Mexican guys. I bet you a million bucks that most people who voted for Gatti/Ward are white. And most people who voted for Vaz/Marquez are logical. :good
