Gatti/ward vs marquez/vasquez

I dont get the point of saying "I picked gatti vs ward just to **** people off", that does the thread 0 justice, and is pointless when it comes to knowing what people really feel.

I mean, everyone is freaking out "these two fights arent comparable in skill level", no ****ing **** the skill level was different.

I believe the correct answer here is which one was more drama filled for you, hence "Which wars have been better" to you. Freddy didn't say "Which wars involved more skill".

Marquez vs Vazquez easy. I read things in favor of Gatti(rip) - Ward about heritage and HBO broadcasting in black & white and I could really care less. I' am a boxing fan.
Vasquez had the Trilogy with Larios, Izzy stops him in the 1st round of the first fight. gets stopped in the last round of the second fight and knocks him out in the 5th(not sure) round of the 3rd. Did you see Izzy and Jhonny Gonzalez, Izzy getting out boxed from long range dropped twice gets up and knocks out Gonzalez

Then on the other side, The greatest 118 pounder of my time. Rafael Marquez, the second Mark Johnson fight. Destroyed Tim austin for the title. Stopped Pastrana first to do it at the time. Destroyed the very sturdy Slience Mabuza, twice. that is a credit to Mabuza for working his way up losing to the champ but still being the best contender so he got another crack.

Then I find out the baddest man at 118 is fighting the baddest man at 122 which = 3 classic fights. I think for boxing fans it is clear. If you are a fan of a certain fighter and not really boxing in general then I can understand why you would pick Gatti - Ward.

 

The only thing I love more than boxing in my life is my Family/close Friends, so the last sentence you typed fails.

C'mon now, just because I liked gatti/ward more than Izzy/Raf means im not a fan of boxing in general? You obviously didn't put to much thought in that one.

You're entitled to your opinion (obviously) and just because someone doesn't agree with you doesnt mean they don't love boxing. I love boxing, and am extremely passionate about boxing.

Take a look at some of my post's on the subject of this thread, and you will see what my thought process was and maybe understand the thoughts of others, on why they might of picked gatti/ward over izzt/raf.

Gatti vs Ward was more personal for me than marquez vs Vazquez.

So you admit that you did not pick the more quality match-up and clearly all around better trilogy b/c of personal bias towards a certain fighter. I watch skill not fighter. You watch fighter not skill. I don't know what you getting all upset about.

 

And yea, I tended to be more biased in liking the gatti/ward trilogy than marquez/vazquez, but that doesn't mean I fail to recognize the difference in the respective skill levels of those two trilogies.

Just because I love Gatti doesn't mean I don't recognize and respect when a fighter is a better boxer than him.
