Gavin Gwynne vs. Emiliano Marsili & Sam Noakes vs. Carlos Perez RBR.

Hate to be that guy but imagine if Matchroom put on two York Hall shows on consecutive Fridays full of boring fights as the final 2 UK shows of the year. Pretty sure the people on here would be vilifying Matchroom.

Interested in Brad Strand vs Joshua John but nothing else to be honest. Moses Itauma is only young so there's no rush but I'm surprised they have decreased the quality of his recent opponents when he has been so impressive so far. Remember he beat the guy who stopped Matty Harris.

Give it a rest- every single YH show this year has prooduced at least 1 cracking dust up.

The Chamberlain main event last week was entertaining war and the rest of the card was decent.

You should just go out to the pub instead of watching.

 

One or two half-decent fights and rest of the card full of prospects against journeymen. Same again today. Carlos Perez lost to Cori Gibbs for goodness sake. The guy Gwynne is fighting is 47 years-old. You could have combined both of these York Hall cards and the quality still would have been low.

My point is that Matchroom received a load of stick on here for their two NxtGen shows in the 2nd half of the year in Birmingham and Newcastle. Queensberry have put on about 6-7 of these York Hall shows full of mismatches apart from 1/2 fights, with the exception of McCann vs Baluta being exceptional and top quality.

David Adeleye headlined twice this year at York Hall and pretty much all the fights were again mismatches.

No I don't. I'll just state the quality of the show regardless of the promoter or broadcaster. The Queensberry show on November 18 was one of the best of the year if not the best. The two Queensberry shows in the last week are one of the poorest.

 

Been a bit cagey so far with Strand and John. Hopefully it warms up a little.

It's just a joke. I very rarely bump threads now. Sometimes it's nice to see how predictions have panned out from the past. Not sure why everyone is so serious about it.

 

Strand pretty much controlled the fight. Didn’t dominate but won pretty much every round, maybe lost one or two.

Strand technically good, hopefully he kicks on.

 

Good little fighter is Strand. A Liverpool show should be next on Frank’s agenda for early 2024- something like;

Nick Ball v Mark Magsayo
Brad Strand v J Cunningham (if he’s still fighting)
Andrew Cain v Joshua John

Plus a couple of names like Itauma etc

 

Will Anthony Yarde’s next opponent be a good name? Frank Warren said that they wanted him to fight Joe Smith Jr but he then fought a European journeyman followed by a fight announced English level Ricky Summers.
