Gavin had Eggs all over his face from lastnights performance

Was bigging up Egg's chances on here before the fight and then bottled it and backed Gavin on the prediction league! I blame Twitter, see a few guys putting a lot of money down on Gavin and assumed they knew something I didn't. Always stick to your guns

Anyway, a much better fight than I thought. In fact, the card on paper was dire but the fights were for the most part very enjoyable. You could see Gavin's technical class there but he seems to lack the strength and power really required to keep a tough fighter honest. The whole weight thing is a joke too, it's really disrespectful.

Sky had Gavin listed as 5'10 and Eggington 5'11...that can't be right surely?

 

I think that the flashes of brilliance he showed in the fight could be a regular thing IF he got down to 140 and got world class sparring & training.

In round 6 he hit Eggington with a 5-6 punch combo and Sam couldn't do anything but take them as he couldn't see them! Phenomenal combo it was. Different class. No British boxer does stuff like that.

Who was Gavin sparring for this fight? He should head back up Sheffield and train with the GB lot, IMHO. I think the fact he's not surrounded by world class talent and being pushed by the very best is hindering him, as well as the obvious lifestyle changes he needs to make.

 

Sick to the back teeth on hearing about FG amateur achievements if he cant beat the likes of Sam no disrespect he should just retire hes taken up valuable airtime for those who take the game serious

 

He would look pathetic and weak at 140 struggles to make 147 and is still weak at that weight
