Think it was misquoted mate , ricky stated in an interview saying we had trouble with the weight but i think that was in refrence to the agreed catchweight cause Figueroa couldnt do 140 , Ricky was 139lb on the thursday night and eating protein pancakes and drinking lattes according to what was in another interview and stated he makes LWW far too easy but needs to do the right amount of weeks and eat strictly to make 135 properly , think for 135 he does a 12 week camp and will have an es*** based nutritionist insight nutrition doing his diet from whats been banded around
Does seem strange that he is making the jump this late. Maybe Brook showed Gavin how powerful a genuine welter can be. Even if Gavin put on albs after a showing at 140 it'd be no problem to get it off. But blowing to say 160 and then trying to get to 140 is Hatton-style living.
Cyclists are the fittest athletes on earth. Their resting heartbeat is ridiculously low, their v02 output is twice that of an average person and they are on another level when it comes to being mentally tough. They don't do an ounce of running and they are cardio machines.
Agreed mate watched a few camp videos of Sergio Martinez and he spent hours on spin bikes due to dodgy knees
Exactly. Not to mention that it is very low-impact, too (unlike Running). That's a great idea - Spin Class. They can be brutal but very effective, and are brilliant in terms of intensity. There is no intensity on a 10 mile run as it is steady state stuff.
You do have to be careful you dont overdo it on the bikes tho. The way a bike develops the calves is different to how running and skipping develop them. I genuinely have a mate who is a rides for Scotland and during his peak training months he struggles to run properly a cyclist would NEVER EVER do ANY running in preparation training for a race purely because of the way it develops the calves. Granted this may not be the case in reverse and im sure the boxers are not on the bikes as much as cyclists but just my two bobs worth It is very good as you say for taking away a lot of the impact that running creates on the knees and ankles especially as you get older.
