Just read this entire thread.. Disgusted at some of the comments directed @Arnie:-( Fair play to him for responding Hopefully this is a lesson to Frankie to take care of his diet. Otherwise his trainer gets character assassinated. If he sticks to a well advised diet, he'll see the results quickly. Not in how much he weighs, but in his workouts, mental state and all round energy levels. The weight will look after itself when that's taken care off. Now I'm off to have some beans and toast for breakfast:blurp
I can see both sides of the argument here. As people have said how can Arnie affect what Frankie stuffs into his pie hole once he gets home from the gym? He can't simple as! Yet at the same time should Frankie be allowed to train at the level he is if he isn't prepared to make the right changes in his life if he is to fulfill his potential. Seriously though had I of not known Frankie from fights previous i'd of thought who the **** is this bum in the ring, his physique was appauling. So bad in fact the only fighter i've seen in worse shape is Kevin McBride!!! Arnie if you read this mate get him to sort his script out, he has so much potential but is in danger of throwing it all away. A nutritionist can't cost all that much, hell I have a close mate who lives in australia now who is a nutritionist! Want me to get him to pen something up for you!
I hope to god WHEN not IF Frankie and his team sort this out that no-one on this forum takes credit for it like saying '' They're only doing what we said. ''
I don't know why everyone blames the trainers. "Bellew had nothing but good words to say about Farnell". Frankie Gavin is a little fat lazy fighter............"Lets face it".
Listen mate, there is no way you would throw Gavin out of your gym and you know it as well as he does. I don't have anything personal against you or your gym. I think Gavin would become a better fighter under the tutilage of Pernel Whitaker and most would agree. Pernell is there and would take Frankie on and I know deep down Frankie has thought about the possibility of being trained by his idol. Pernell knew all the tricks in the book and can teach them to Frankie. I thought Bomber put in some poor performances under your command and didn't seem to listen in the corner. It was a different story the other night as he was listening in the corner and as he said, sticking to a gameplan for the first time in his career. I think that points to the fact that you are too much of a mate to the fighters and not the disciplinarian you say. I have no doubt you are a good trainer and will become a very good trainer in time. However, this is a crucial time in Frankies career. He just got a very stern wake up call and knows things have to change. This is a time where he is still learning his professional trade and if he goes with the likes of Pernell he gives himself a better chance. I just think Pernell would have him in better shape and would teach him better and Gavin would have much more respect for Pernell as a trainer and would certainly listen intently to anything he has to say. Plus he would get top quality sparring in America. Basically I have nothing against Anthony Farnell but I think we saw improvement in Bellew at the weekend in his first fight away from Farnell in terms of listening to his trainers. You just don't come accross as having the authority over your fighters that you say you do mate. My advice to Frankie still stands as I do want him to succeed and this is a very crucial time in his career where he has to make the same type of move Amir Khan made and I really hope he thinks long and hard about the possibilities and does himself proud. In 15 years, he is the one who will have to look back on his career in quieter times and I hope he doesn't look back and think "What if?"
You keep repeating this as though its a fact but you never explain why....Whitaker was a class act but it doesn't make him a great trainer
Thats the basis for your argument??...he's doing well with Judah? What happens if/when Judah gets his arse handed back to him grilled medium rare by Khan? Would Judah then be looking for another trainer, Farnell perhaps?
I agree completely just because u were a great fighter doesn't mean u can teach your greatness. Look at what roach has done for khan as one example of hundreds. Also I don't see getting Judah to look average against mabuza before the ko especially incredible(going on what I've heard about that fight I haven't seen it myself)
some shite posts on here, mind you, some shite posters as well. would love to see most of you velcro some gloves on and have a ikkle spar, well, without crying in the corner:| don't know why its quoted you scotty, weird
you need to read my posts to see the basis of my argument but i would imagine you are incapable of doing so.
