Murray shouldnt even be thinking bout Gavin Rees, He would walk straight through him, Murray should just concentrate on bringing another world title back to Britain.

Pretty much this. Rees is a step backward. There's no way they will do it.

Disagree. Former world champion, he is world ranked. Murray has never faced anyone as good as Rees.

I would like to see Murray step up now and fight a World title elminator fight. I was under the impression that Andy Murray would of been his mandatory for a European title.

I honestly think Prizefighter winners now are getting the jump in the rankings big time. Right now you have Audley fighting for a World title. Now Rees and Casey jumping the que and fighting for European titles ahead of other fighters. Were is Andy Murray in the European rankings? Sure if John drops the title then Andy Murray v Gavin Rees should be made.

Part of me feels let Murray fight him for reasons Rob explained but then i think does he really need a grueling hard fight before stepping up to world level. In saying that even if John fought a light punching technician he still end up in a war.

Murray is 6th behind Mitchell, Rees, McAllister, Mezzache and Kurdistev.

He does not deserve a shot.

He is former world champion.. mainly thanks to Frank Warren

Murray talent wise is far ahead of him

Talent is meaningless if you don't fight a decent opponent.

John Murray is an entertaining fighter who is slightly over rated, Andy Murray and Gavin Rees would beat him imo. Why John is considered world class by some is beyond me - he has built a long unbeaten run thanks to domestic opposition, lack of activity and less than top euro level fighters

Gavin Rees and Andy Murray deserve a crack and I can see them meeting for the euro belt when John vacates.

John Murray is a good fighter one limited by a weak promotor and trainer, He needs to get rid of them if he is to go anywhere! I have said all along, John Murray is one diamensional but he has great power and a great chip, His head movement, Footwork and speed are week.

Is he world class? No, I think like Salita when he steps up to fight someone world class he will get blown out of there very fast. Salita also had a 30-0 undefeated record and that didnt seem to help him much.

This would probably be an interesting fight, Rees is quicker, throws a lot of punches, and is a better Boxer, I think he can get off first, move, and frustrate Murray to a degree, whether he could do that consistently enough to keep Murray of him, is another thing, plus he is smaller, certainly worth watching though.

Murray aint all that and has been made to look to less than stellar before, most notably against Al Hamidi, Munguia, and you might say, to a degree,

Al Hamidi was a disaster for Murray, He was being outboxed. That being said Al Hamidi is on PEDS and is the domestic British Manny Pacquaio therefore Murrays less than "stellar" proformance is understandable.

Rees needs to first prove himself capable of still operating at this level. The last time he did so was 3 years ago
