Thats why I think he is a good opponent for Murray, Murray is not ready to fight a world class fighter, plus, Gavin might be on the way down, but he has credentials, something Murray's previous opponents are lacking.

Lol thinking the same... I'd like proof of the 'Great' bit... 60% KO Ratio hardly suggest 'Great', now Maidana at a cool 90% could maybe stake some sort of claim to 'Great'.... lol

Add to that mate most of his stoppages are the fact his opponents couldn't deal with his pressure rather than his power the fella the other week didn't look bothered with his power one bit, it was just he has no answer to the onslaught from Murray and was taking to many shots.

Exactly 60% ko rate doesn't exactly cry out " POWERHOUSE " especially with the lower level crap Murray has been fighting.

Would Rees be Murray's best opponent so far, if he hasnt faded then its 50,50 in my mind.

By far imo, he hasn't done much in the last 12 months aslong as he is comfortable at 135, he has every chance. They way he won the prize fighter was impressive imo, I got a feeling the bookies might see this heavily in Murray's favour. I think Murray is deffo the favourite going in but not by much Rees has a very good shot.

Yes, Murray is a rudimentary brawler with nothing more than power and a decent chin. He isnt a flashy fighter but then thats not his style.

The thing is, Murray gets hit flush but he isnt getting hit by quality opponents so how good his chin is questionable but he should be given benefit of the doubt.

The reason I compared Murray to Salita is because Salita was 30-0 like Murray when he got a world title shot and he was blown away, Basically he was so over-protected that it caught upto him when he stepped up, The same could happen to Murray.

At what level? At this level he is at right now Euro level I would agree, but at world level I can't see it the chin bit we can't comment at the moment, but deffo not the power.

His last two fights he has fought game opponents who lost and were stopped because they were limited and couldn't deal with Murray's aggression and will, someone with power would of had them both out of there early.

I personally dont think Murray is world class, I dont think he can cut it with world class fighters, He will get a world title fight, Get blown away and its back to Euro level for him.

The last guy Murray fought Kudryavtsev lost 6 times before including twice to some kickboxers. Murrays opposition has been terrible but thats because of a weak promotor who cant get fights, A weak trainer who is more interested in getting to a world title fight asap instead of making sure his fighter is actually ready to not just get a world title fight, but win it aswell.

a lot of you seem to know "what murray needs." do you, really? my guess is you don't know very much.

he's not a rudimentary brawler, he is a composed, methodical fighter who breaks opponents down slowly with fierce body punching. not had many 50-50 fights? LOL, so every fighter has 50-50 fights, eh? he's won domestic and european titles, something that many of you said he can't do. he's taking the traditional route.

as to rees, mandatory for murray's european title fight. rees also might be good enough, given that he's a former world champ, for some sort of world title eliminator. if it's just a european title fight, then it'll be a frenetic one, murray-buckland will have been great preparation, ad it's a bloody good fight for the ppl who buy tickets or watch on sky.
