Gavin Rees 37-3-1 (18 KOs) has pulled out of his Nov 2 lightweight clash against Tommy Coyle 16-2 (6 KOs) at the Hull Arena after sustaining an elbow injury that will likely keep him out till 2014.

This fight woulda been more impressive if it was announced before, seems **** compared to Rees/coyle

True but lets be fair with Rees pulling out, Simpson is a good replacement for Coyle, still should be a good fight, only difference is Coyle is now the favorite to win i reckon

Simpson is a good fight, good match making to get a deal sorted so quickly actually.

I actually think Simpson will provide a better fight in terms of entertainment, the coyle vs Rees however was the headline fight on the Hull card for me. The card was a little underwhelming to the occasional boxing fan with Rees v Coyle for many the headline fight but I wonder whether it will effect ticket sales as many won't appreciate Simpsons quality. True boxing fans will look at the card and think that the majority of fights are well matched though which is true it is just a card that lacks a "name" to the part time armchair fan in my opinion.

Pity Simmo didn't have more notice for it although I'm sure he'll be delighted to get this platform.

I would imagine 'training' and 'training for a signed fight' are two different situations altogether.

As for effecting ticket sale the arena only holds 3,500 about and luke campbell could sell half of that for a open workout in hull
