Meh...it just made what could have been an interesting discussion turn like something from the general forum, which is never a good thing.
Boucher canadian wba champ - he boxed espana for title on benn eubank 2 undercard if i remember correctly, danny juma met him once nice guy, damean denny yep, cant remember who tshuma is but prob seen him, dont say ive no idea just because we disagree thats beyong arrogance. Took your cracks for what they were, knew you werent really having a go but if you cant be arsed with me dont say anything. All good bud
OK i base my opinion on you on the fact that your best argument for gavin been a top class fighter is the Dorin-Blundell comparison. If i'd have been arguing in Rees' favour I may have brought up the decent wins over Martin Watson, Chill John, Jimmy Beech etc but you didn't. Plus your comparison between Rees and Jones, Rhodes and Matthews. All three of those guys have served there time as good domestic fighters Rees isn't even proven domestically yet. Fact is if he beats Damian Owen (currently 11-2) that will be the second best win of his career almost beyond dispute. Rees is 27-1.
Gavin is not a bad fighter. He's pretty tough, not the most skilled but he throws a lot of punches in the ring, so if he was in bad shape he should do even better with this supposed new diet. I don't see any reason why he couldn't compete well at the top end of lightweights in Britain. I wouldn't exactly say John Murray is miles better than him save for the fact he's got more power.
But he already is a light welter. He's talking about being on a diet and removing that puppy fat, and a fight with John Murray.
The Kotelnik fight was in no way a terrific scrap. He got pummeled for 12 rounds. Was totally outclassed. Cant see him getting past British level again at best.
Nah the guy he beat to win the title was the least deserving champion. That guy stunk and was an embarrassment to boxing, Ree's foought hard in his two world title fights which is far different from what happens with a few world champions.
I hope that seeing how easily Khan dealt with Kotelnik makes him put in the extra effort. That should have hurt his pride.
Rees should be a lightweight he carries to much for light welter. If he makes a comeback at light welter the british scene is pretty strong with McCloskey, Ajose stepping up though he might have a chance of picking the title up but i doubt it. He should be aiming for lightweight though.
and i am supposed to be stupid. come of it Rees is **** he got very very lucky agaisnt M'Baye i remember people were so shocked they thought it was a fix. he will get sparked by all of the top 10 lightweights in the ESB rankings, i would even fancy Limmond to stop him.
That is a load of bollocks you just spouted. The top 10 lightweights in Britain spark Rees :nut Most of them are poor, its not a good division.
