Gavin Rees v Ricky Burns?

I like this fight, especially considering all the other belt holders are fighting next month and Frank wants Ricky fighting in December, so why not!

Rees is a good fighter and will prove more of a test then Mitchell IMO.

 

We heard a very strong rumour last night that it'll be no surprise if there's a rematch with Mitchell.And that came from someone who would have a good idea.
It would be a disgrace if that happens.No need at all.But you-know-who is shameless and at the very least,Rees will be on the shortlist now.
It's a tough fight,but I'd love to see Ricky take on a name that the Americans can't knock.

 

No chance, even Frank wouldn't stoop that low.

 

Mitchell was beat convincely it wasn't class or it didnt warrant a re-match so i think that would be a massive error in the boxing world. Rees in December would be better than Harrison. But Harrison would not provide the bigger threat so that may be the fight Frank will take.

He needs to step up in March and get in with a unify.

 

i dont think ree's is all that impressive he's a good solid euro level fighter, who would likely get beat by most of the top 10 at lightweight

 

Agreed, but it is a better option than Harrison. Frank needs to stop holding his fighters back and get them in big fights.

 

I could see Frank thinking rematch before the fight - expecting close one, points decision.... But he can't seriously go with it now after Burns completely outclassed Mitchell. No chance.

I'd hope the same with Harrison - how can he possibly be given a title shot after TWO joke fights. This one worries me slightly though! I wouldn't put it past Frank. Rees would be a but better but can't see it happening.
