I've heard on the grapevine that this could be a possible fight moving forward. I think this would be a great fight for both. Who've ya got?
Rees has been out for ages now and I don't see what Murray would gain from fighting him. Rees is a very good example of 'title holder' as opposed to 'champion', IMO. If it ever happened, Murray would make Rees look silly.
Style wise it'd be a good little fight if Rees is still interested/ motivated, I'd have to go with the younger, keener Murray.
That wouuld be very good match making from Hennessy.... but Murray has to get past Thaxton first though!
Obviously we don't know how motivated Rees will be after his comeback but I was thinking the Rees of M'Baye vs Murray of last time out would be a a great fight. Certainly one of the better British title fights of recent times.
I think that Murray should concentrate on a contest with Thaxton..... he does not need Rees at this time... post the Thaxton fight maybe, but not right now...:bbb
rees can be awesome and equally he can be bad,if he comes out with his A game murray would get hammered, mark my words.
Maybe.... but Rees aint consistant enough...... I am concerned with Murray's discipline in his last contest on the scales.... I think that Rees v Murray is a good fight, but the fight out there for Murray right now is Thaxton IMO...:bbb
This would be a really good match up for both fighters. Gives Rees the chance of getting back in contention and a win over Rees as an ex 'world' champion would be an excellent win for Murray and as I read it a fight where he'd learn a fair bit. Unless of course Rees had completely deteriorated since the Kotelnik fight.
The long layoff is not going to help Rees either - does he have the hunger for it and how will he even come back from the beating he took against Kotelnik? Plus I am sure he has lost a lot of confidence, with it being his first loss and it was a very convincing loss as well.
Rees and Bradley both out on August 21st. It'll be interesting to see how much motivation both have left.
