Gavin targets at least British or Commonwealth title before the end of the year

BIRMINGHAM’S massively talented Frankie Gavin has got the taste for titles.

He has targeted the British and Commonwealth titles and intends to have at least one of the belts round his waste before the end of the year.

“If I’m going to go all the way to the top then I need to beat the likes of Lenny Daws. He is a decent domestic level fighter, but he’s nothing special", he said.

“I’ve been buzzing since I won the Irish title and I want the British and Commonwealth titles next.

“But although I’m proud of the belt because of my Irish heritage, the one every boxer wants to win is the British, and at the moment Daws has got a belt that I want.”

“I must be driving Frank mad because I keep ringing him and asking about title fights. But I know he will deliver, and I can’t wait to get back in the ring.”

Warren insists that the Liverpool spectacular will be bigger than the Magnificent Seven show in Birmingham in September.

“I’m planning a huge show on December 11 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of my first boxing promotion,” said Warren.

I worry for Frankie a little bit, There's just something holding me back from waving the poms poms for him. Don't know really...fighters like him need that something special whether it be reflexes, anticipation or incredible punch release to go all the way and i'm not sure he has those qualities, but we'll see.

I think in a lot of his big fights he's gonna end up getting cut aswell. Scar tissue is a bad mofo!

Frankie Gavin is a good fighter, He has alot of potential I like him better than Ronnie Heffron. So since Warren has two JWW it will be a tough competition for the both of them to reach the top. Guaranteed if one of them looses early Frank Warren will drop one of them.

I do think Frankie Gavin is better than Heffron.

It's the cuts I worry about. If it's happening at this level, imagine when he meets a really sharp puncher!

Frankie, How come you're not out more often, you seem to fight once every 3-4 month. Is this on purpose or just how it turned out?

Lets hope he doesn't go down the WBU route like Farnell, who embarrassingly showered with the belt on during a Sky segment and acted like the undisputed champion of the division, while he had the WBU belt over his shoulder.
