    By the look of it.

Promoter Frank Warren is leading the race to sign Olympic drop-out Frankie Gavin as a pro.

The British promoter is battling with American rival Golden Boy Promotions to add the Birmingham boxer to his professional stable.

Gavin will campaign at light-welterweight after failing to make the lightweight limit just days before the Beijing Games.

Gavin's amateur coach Tommy Chaney said: "We are in heavy negotiations with Frank Warren and it looks as though that's the way we're going."

    Great.

Give it a few months and Gavin will be sitting around a boxing ring with banners of Lewis, Hatton, Hamed, Tyson etc. behind him; then the narrator will come on with his "Gavin joins the greats on SKY! Gavin v Kristjansen, order now for just 14.99".

Here's hoping GBP grabs him instead.

It still makes me chuckle now, that over the top advert comparing an unproven domestic fighter like Khan to AtG's such as Tyson and Lewis with him draped in the Union Flag looking smug as ****.

And then getting sparked out in less than a minute

yeh fair play to the lad he will make decent money. theres a big difference between khan and any of the 8 olympic lads. khan is pure excitment in every fight, looks for ko's, fast, no real defence, vunrable, edge of your seat stuff.

gavin is a defensive south paw, hes kind of like a witter that doesnt swtich, boring as ****.

    Warren is finished.

    Big statement Rob........

No doubt Frankie will win the WBO interalphabetty title within a year.

He should sign with GBP - though no doubt the Warren deal will be better.

in 3 years time gavin with warren will be in a top of the bill fight v peter buckley for the inter midlands inter continental astondudley wbu championship of the world belt and if he wins this he could be in line for a ibo interballistic title shot v ian napa who will move up in weight for the challenge.

In these guys' position you be a mug not to go with Warren for the first two or three years at least. You' fight regulary on televised cards and earn well.

be fair to warren though. he protected and built up khan well. khan fought feather fisted guys for a clear reason, he has no punch resistence (i rejused to say bad chin)

when he had nad hammed he put him in decent fights on the way up.
