dont have too have a sky subscription to buy the pay per views pal ive just got a basic virgin media package
Once again Hearn is mugging people off. He knows Mitchell and Selby aren't massive names and wouldn't be a big enough pull for the casual fan to stump up money for PPV so he sticks Brook on versus Gavin thinking as it's an all British world title fight it will draw in the casual. Anyone who has watched Gavin recently will know he doesn't deserve a world title shot **** Hearn and **** Sky they can stick it up their ****
Geuss it all depends on the "suckercount". How many did buy the Cleverly vs Bellew #stackedcard sh*t? How many did buy the Haye vs Audley "fight"? If the suckercount is high enough for fights like that, then surely this one is PPV too.
Exactly, matchroom do have a very good hardcore following, I mean they managed to flog them matchroom fight passes which for the shows they put on I cant see how people need to use it that often, also you will get a lot of people that literally just want to watch the card, the 16 quid is annoying on top of anyones sky bill but so is not being able to see quite a good night of boxing, I think Eddie plays on that brilliantly
Your ppv money is covering more than just Brook vs Gavin , its a bill with 3 world title fights , a british title fight a commonwealth title fight plus Joshua , your getting bang for your buck imo
problem is is the sports package on sky is already fairly pricey which means you are effectively pay ppv for "all sky sports" I get that sometimes additional ppv's have to be made mayweather vs pac for example but I think a card that has Frankie Gavin in the headline and Lee Selby and Kevin Mitchell fighting for world titles in mandatory positions shouldn't necessary be deemed something a sky customer should have to pay more for
In business terms 3 world title fights a british and commonwealth plus joshuas purses vs ticket sales dictates it would need to be ppv to be viable imo
Agree with that but I would rather see them all headline there own shows not on ppv anyway, not for the sake of 16 quid but more because it seems he stacks the cards for ppv and leaves us with absolute dross like the Leeds show this weekend
