the thing is gavin saying it will make a difference being at 140...the guy he was figthing was a 140 fighter.
Without saying he's a huge puncher it was quite obvious there was something missing from his punches on Saturday. Plus he isn't physically strong at the weight either. You cannot genuinely believe being at 140 will not make him physically stronger?
Thanks! Having watched that (bar 2 rounds), I think Gavin won the fight pretty clearly. It was far less close than I expected, though Gavin didn't exactly shine and Woodhouse gave it his all, the difference in experience between a former amateur world champ and a guy with no amateur fights did tell. Gavin looked far from a future professional World Champ though. On the evidence of his last few fights, he has to make some changes if he is to fulfill his potential.
really interested in hearing peoples opinions on the fight. i just watched it. gavin looked awful. i scored the first to curtis. colin hart agreed with me. i scored the second to curtis. jim watt agreed with me while colin gave it to gavin. 3rd to gavin. 4ths to curtis, watt agrees. 5th to gavin. 6th to curtis, watt and colin agree. 7th to curtis. watt and colin disagree but i thought he won that round. 8th to curtis, again watt and colin disagree. 9th to gavin. 10th to curtis. i think he hurt frankie in this round. colin agrees, watt gives it even. 11th to gavin, colin gave it to curtis 12th to gavin big that gives me a scorecard of 7-5 curtis interested in hearing unbiased opinions from people watching, people like mandana for example. gavin looked far worse than i thought. he really should get away from farnell and get top line training ASAP
Lirva unless your going to take Arnie up on the offer shut the **** up saying Frankie needs to leave!
mate you are farnells brother so obviously you are going to be continually taking issue with any criticism and be completely biased and impossible to talk to on the issue. deep down you can bet your ass that frankie is really thinking about his options and wondering if he should freshen things up like bellew did. lets see what happens. he really didn't look good at all on that video
you are another member of the farnell camp so i am not going to engage you in conversation. rounds 7 and 8 were close and are swing rounds. i just liked curtiss work more. if i was as biased as you say i would have given the 11th to curtis because colin hart did. anyway, i will be putting you and waterboy on my ignore list after i post this message. goodbye mate. :hi:
Seeing as he's too scared to read my messages now, let alone confront the people he criticises behind the relative safety of his keyboard could somebody please explain to this complete ****wit that I have nothing to do with team Gavin or team Farnell. Better still somebody just quote it, he'll see it that way, thick ****!
first time ive seen the fight i think it is one of them it depends what you like, frankie had a lot more classy shots i had better workrate, but ive got no complaints about the result, imo it could have gone either way, from watching it back i should have kept on my jab as it seemed to be working well early on and could of picked my shots a bit better when i backed him up, and i didnt go to the body like i should of, we had been working on that in the gym but i found him hard to hit to the body he kept sliding off very tough to pin him down but ill work on these things and hopefully be back out in october
you fought very well mate and proved plenty of people wrong. absolute corker you caught him with in the 10th to dislodge the gumshield but he took it very very well. i thought you were effective when you were using the jab. the double jab worked very well to close the distance when you used it which was rare. the old one two was effective and you landed some good shots behind the jab. i was also wondering why you didn't throw as many jabs as the fight was going on. i expected you to be much more aggressive, which would have played into frankies hands but you were patient and controlled with the pressure which gave him problems. i will watch your career with interest mate, good luck
thanks livra i knew if i was reckless frankie would beat the **** out of me, so had to stay aggressive but controlled if that makes sense, angry at myself watching it back that i stopped jabbing, when i caught him in the tenth i was thinking ive got him but he showed a good chin and he finished strong so you have to give him credit for that, but i think the fight was there for me to win maybe a lack of 12 round expierence cost me the close rounds he seemed to know how to nick them which i will learn over time
try and get in for brit tile tilt against purdy i think ye could defo take it defo better than ur record suggests ..how da **** did ye lose t jay morris?
im going back down to light welter unless i got a shot up at welter then id stay up there but im not big enough im only 5 foot 6, and jay is a good fighter he was tough and im still learning i did take him out in the rematch though, but he just knew a bit too much for me in our first fight i learnt alot that night mainly that im not a welter
Before the fight i thought it was a complete mismatch. Glad you proved me wrong, credit where it's due! :good
