Only 1 loser in this fight & it's Anthony Farnell. Think Gavin needs someone to push him hard & although I hate to say it I feel Arnie may be in awe slightly of Gavin. A top trainer, who can see past the amateur accolades is Gavin's only hope. Fair play to Curtis. Reputation enhanced & every chance of a rematch with the hype this will generate..
I just wonder does Frankie actually feel like e's learning in the gym. I actually think Farnell is a great young trainer but he got alot of top talent too soon. He's really cool in the corner but I think he'd have benifited from a chance to learn his trade.
Just watching bellow v mckenzie on tv and seen Frankie ringside. Have u seen his face? did woodhouse use a baseball bat?
i look forward to seeing this fight after all the comments. i replied to a frankie gavin thread a while back saying that i thought his progression had slowed. vs mutley and lomax , gavin was very one-paced and threw the same punches over and over again. he certainly needs to be at 140 but i dont know if he can make that weight
thing is with gavin he has great natural talents. he can slip punches and land from angles that not many fighter are able to do. he beat a very good amateur by 10 points in the amateur wc final. the same guy went on to dominate gamboa. somebody said it in an earlier post. he needs to be trained by a world class trainer who recognises his abilities and can work to his strengths. plus he looks weak compared to other fighters and apparently it was evident he didn't have the power to remotely trouble woodhouse.
I don't know why some on here are trying to be "Billy big balls" behind the ****ing keyboard! What's with all the personal **** calling the lad a **** and a *****..... Keyboard warriors at their finest! atsch It's clear something's not right with Gavin, whether it's his weight or what it needs to be addressed. He's clearly talented I just hope he pulls it all together and dominates as he should be. :good
Regardless of the result, Gavin did not look good at the weigh in, far too fleshy. He claims he is done with light welterweight and he cant make the weight, I call bull****! He has lots of talent but he needs to take the sport seriously.
How many times can you use the same excuse; maybe just maybe it's the fact he isn't all that good. Still rate him but I don't believe he'll be as good as the likes of Khan like so many on here were saying before.
First of all, I want to give Curtis Woodhouse a lot of credit. I really didn't expect him to get out of the first six rounds of this fight. I mean for someone who has had no amateur fights, and entered the sport late to go the distance in a close fight with a world class amateur is a testament to himself and his team. Well done Curtis, you've proved a hell of a lot of people wrong tonight :good I haven't seen the fight (apart from the sparse highlights shown by Sky), but I'm not going to be jumping off the Gavin bandwagon because of the result. I've seen the talent he possesses and I just hope that this warning sign wakes him up.
said 6 months ago Gavin didnt look in good shape and his dedication is in question and i got ripped to pieces.
nice one frankie a few more pies and a bit more guinness and you could challenge your mate tony for the light heavyweight title.
