its not a knee jerk reaction to Gavin though is it Dan. Same with Bellews. They have both looked poor in recent performances. the air of optimism around there careers has been dwindling for quite a while.

Genuinely pal, Arnie doesn't put up with **** from any of his lads. He may be friendly with them but there's a difference between being friendly and being a yes man. Arnie is no yes man.

Frankies bringing in a nutritionist after this fight, which isn't a knee jerk reaction, slapbangwallop will confirm Frankie said this to him around 3-4 weeks ago, so it's obvious he is being serious about controlling his weight.

The lad will come on stronger I have absolutely no doubt about that, and Arnie will bring the best out of him.

I have a lot of respect for Arnie and think he is a good coach but there clearly something going wrong in the camp.

It may not be a knee jerk reaction but its still laughable that they wait until after a fight to get a nutritionist in. Kerry Kayes is only down the road for a start. infact it seems ridiclious Gavin did not have a nutritionist working with him from the start considering the reputation he has and the fact he has come from the olympic setup.

pretty much every full time pro in the country will be working with someone....why would it take 3 years for Gavin to do the same.

I don't think it's the fact he hasn't done anything with one mate, I know he gets advice etc from Kayes and the products and stuff, sounded more like he's bringing one in full time now pal.

i hope it works out. i know it seems i slate gavin allot but its only cos i see the talent and think its being wasted. at the end of the day and nutritionist can only tell you to much and wont be with him 24/7. you can have every shake and supplement in the world but if you go Nandos 4x a week your not gonna be in shape.

we hear allot about gavin looking class in sparring to. who is he in the ring with though??

Gavin & Farnell should be in Los Angeles next week as chief sparring for Victor Ortiz.

what was unfair about saying bellew should leave because farnell isnt the trainer for him and not getting the best out of him. didn't bellew leave? please tell me exactly what is unfair about saying that without going on tangents which may prove impossible because im sure you cannot answer the question.

as for frankie, what is unfair about saying farnell isnt the trainer for him and i think whitaker would be a great trainer for him, much better than farnell.

Gavin doesn't need a nutritionist, he knows what he can and can't eat, he needs a conditioner and they are two different things

IMHO he doesn't look like he has the genetic blessings that other top fighters around his weight have. I see other fighters that are great to watch but just havn't got that strength and physicality that will tell at the top. If Froch wasn't the tough ******* that he is he might not of ever won the world title let alone defended it.

Right I wasn't trying to appear unbiased was I? I'm pretty sure that I opened a paragraph with the words "I may be pro Gavin at times"

Gavin was on boxrec forum and said he eats 2 meals a day!!! No wonder his conditioning is shocking. He should be eating 6 small meals a day, with plenty of water. Cut out the carbs and increase protein!

Meal frequency doesn't have an impact on body composition, it is what he is eating in those two meals that does.
