Good for him because I can't vouch for Olympians who are handed the golden keys to this sweet sport but can't get it popping after 4 years of only swimming in the kiddie pool, lol!

Oh Degale is the better prospect IMHO.

    gavin's power is rubbish.

when has he walked someone down like degale's done and really f*ck em up good and proper. :bbb

i think gavin could win the british title if given the shot.

but so could degale as well i think.

Give him a shot, his amateur pedigree should count a lot to stepping up sooner rather than later. Both are excellent prospects.

There you go talking about talent rather than tools.

Gavin doesn't ***** slap. I apologise for this. DeGale should aim to at least slap like Calzaghe and I really mean that.

frankie will be fighting a guy called gavin tate who has a record of 8 wins 8 losses. hopefully its williams next for the english or maybe a 10 rounder with grant before a shot at daws.jason cook had daws for large spells of that fight. frankie will be well able in 2 fights time

alright, so his punching technique hasn't looked the best at times. :yep

but least he's come out in a few fights really bombing and not just sitting back picking his spots like gavin does. :bart

i don't think gavin has looked bad so far. he's win the british title tomorrow if given the chance.

but degale is the better prospect by far. :bbb

what degale means is he ****ing wants it handed to him on a silver platter like gavin. Other pro's with just as much talent much be ****ing pissed off at the queue jumping that is happening with these two.
Not saying they aren't ones for the future, but it takes the **** good amateur pedigree or not

Any title you can win in a eight rounder isn't what I call a real title anyway.

Hitman Hatton just out of curiosity WHEN THE **** HAS DEGALE WALKED SOMEONE DOWN AND ****ED THEM UP PROPER ?????

He's punching power is pathetic. Yes he is skillfull, is he as skillfull as Gavin ? NOT A CHANCE ON GODS GREEN EARTH ? Is he more powerful that Gavin? That remains to be seen but I don't think so, he likes to think he is powerful throwing those kinda shots he does but the reality is if he continues to box the way he does when he stops fighting punchbags with legs he'll get seriously embarassed.

I actually think that as with Khan, it will take a beating for Degale to get back to what he IS good at and stop ****ing about

I think of DeGale as being the punching man's slapper *****.

^^ agree dan, being built up to be much more than he actually is right now, which isnt to say he won't improve. But better than gavin is a right ****ing laugh. Saw him sat at ring side at the smith fight, with the ring card girls all sat on his ****ing knee, more interested in that, than in the two guys in the ring, who could be potential future opponents, i just don't think he is properly focused, and i see a khan style embarresment coming up

if Gavin had had a 10 rounder under his belt his fight against McDonagh could have been for the Irish title - certainly worth for in my eyes than an area, English or intercontental title.

I have no doubting DeGales class or pedigree but one things for certain, he hasn't shown any of it in the pro ring thus far. Gavin was always going to be the better prospect, World Am Gold trumps an Olympic gold evertime. :deal

Boxing isn't all about destroying your opponent. There are far more powerful, viscious boxers out there than Frankie Gavin who are nowhere near as good as him. All you are saying is that he has a style which you don't like, that's fair enough. But don't equate that to how good he is. Pernall Whittaker didn't drop bombs and he turned out alright. If I knew you, I would be willing to make a substantial bet that Gavin will be more successful than De Gale.
