Dont see what's so special about Usyk. He has solid skills, moves well but is featherfisted and easy to hit. I am confident that Usyk cannot take punches from Gawsiev. Gawsiev will have no troubles with Usyk's "power" whatsoever. Gawsiev to win before round 7 is the best choice to bet your house on!
Usyk has great conditioning and a high work rate. Enough to allow him to run for 12 rounds and let the judges gift him rounds for his flashy pitty pat jabs and slapping combinations. When you fight Usyk, you are also fighting the judges and the media. I can only see Gassiev winning this fight with knockdowns.
Gassiev can win but he needs to leave his gentle personality at home and bring a "no prisoners" attitude that night, or he's getting outpointed.
Thats a big call. Dorticos is not Usyk. He brings a whole different set of problems to the game than the Cuban did. I like both fighters alot and think it should be a very good fight. It will be competitive as long as it lasts but the Ukranians has better skills and will be picking off most the rounds, Gassiev will need a KO, he is capable of it but my money would be Usyk fairly comfortably on points.
Finally a non-***** riding thread. Dorticos had good success with his jab on Gassiev for a stretch. I think Usyks best gameplan should be to use his size advantage and jab from the outside but volume puncher Usyk is at a disadvantage if he wants to throw his repetitive flurries because he will invite the far superior skilled Gassiev to land quality counters on that Homer Simpson dome of Usyks. People like Usyk just because of his personality and things of that nature. He’s not even really all that aesthetically pleasing to watch when you view his fights. He does nothing great. His biggest attributes have been his size advantage and stamina. Other than that I have not been impressed with much of Usyk. I don’t think he’ll get KO’ed or KD but he will be on ***** Street. I think Gassiev scores the upset and wins a tight decision.
It's hard to say what to expect, both guys are really good - but I think a lot of observers don't have much time for "smart" fighting like the likes of Usyk and Luis Ortiz often rely on. They don't throw all their eggs into the basket right at the same time, instead they bank on needing to be effective fighters through the whole match. How good you look in a fight relies on your "dance partner" and Dorticos and Gassiev were both VERY good fighers who were well matched in terms of levels and stylistically, so it was a high level fight which was fun to watch. Put either of those against a higher level fighter and it will potentially suddenly seem like they are having an "off night", unless people are prepared to accept that maybe that someone else is actually a higher level than they expected. This is what I half expect to happen when Usyk fights Gassiev. I expect it to be well competitive, but I feel Usyk has already fought his toughest opponent for this tournament and will the upper hand here.
Usyk took Medzhidov's power with no issues as well as Nistor's and Usyk has much better punch resistance than Dortacos who took Gassievs power with no issues until late in the 11th. in response to the brain surgeons who think usyk will run vs Gassiev. LOL He did not run either vs Medxhidov or Nistor or anyone ever yet he is going to suddenly start running. Do you moroms even watch these fighters more than once or twice before regurgitating your stupid opinions?
Yeah just like Wach destroyed Miller, right? Oh wait..... Yeah just like Chisora destroyed Pulev, right? Oh wait.... Just like Thompson destroyed Ortiz, right? Oh wait..... And who exactly is Gawsiev? Don't you mean Gassijew or Gassichew?
