Semis on Friday 12th Nov, finals on Sat 13th. I think they're going to do a draw and presumably some people will receive byes in the divisions that only have 3 fighters.

If the guy who ends up winning is not part of the GB setup then he gets invited to join Team GB which means they'll get first crack at qualifying for London 2012.

There's a lot of lads like Joshua, Cardle and Luke Campbell who could force their way into the GB setup here.

Scott trains with GB already but given Bradleys form he's got the edge at the moment. I watched them both training yesterday- specifically Saunders sparring- he's very good indeed.

Saunders seems like a very unstable character to me, just the vibe i get. I can see why he would look great in sparring, but strikes me as someone who's not reliable under the bright lights...the inconsistant type.

You're gonna tell me it's pretty impressive, right? Have i just punked myself? :?

I don't know. Like i said, it's just the vibe i get...seems like a fighter who could beat the best in the world one moment, then lose to someone he really shouldn't the next. I could be totally of track though and you know him better than I, so correct me if i'm wrong.

    Wrong colour for McGoldrick fella.

Really looking forward to seeing how bantamweight sorts itself out. Weaver is a good little fighter, Campbell has a real chance though in my opinion to get himself on that GB squad and McGoldrick looked impressive at the Games so could be a bit of a dark horse there.

I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing Anthony Joshua on the GB squad aswell. I think he's a really good prospect and I hope he gets the job done.

:good Thought he was Scottish cos of his surname. The other Super Heavies haven't done much above ABA level, if Joshua is half as good as we think he is then he should win comfortably.

Why don’t they just widen the ABA to the island & take the history of the English?

    It’s hardly a championship if there’s selection.

(Although the selection is nearly always tight)
