I'd punt Vitali with Holyfield a close second, just because he was past it by the time he got to Vitali. While Holyfield was on the downslide himself. Mercer was a good scalp, as was Golota when you consider how he battered the guy. Also beat the likes of Tua, Ruddock, Morrison, Tucker, Bruno. Thats nothing short of a who's who of 90's HW names. A worthy legacy indeed. Two avenged defeats which should be levelled at Lewis's greatest weakness, his clumsyness and exposing of himself to truly hardshots. You could level the same thing at Tyson and Cotto. What did they do that was truly great? I know what makes Tyson great. Cotto I have never believed to be. Would be good to hear what you feel makes them greater than Calzaghe or Lewis.
Cotto's resume is pretty solid. Has some good wins along with two loses that should have an asterisk on them. He is not an all time great but gets into the hall with what he has done.
Cotto's resume is steady. The biggest problem is that by far and away his best win is over an old and inconsistent Shane Mosley that was razor thin. He'll get into the HOF on the back of his following i.e. Barry McGuigan more than Mike MacCallum.
:roflatsch typical ignorant, narrow minded, blinkered american response "if we're not doing well it doesn't count" :yep
In the pros, knocking the **** out of glass jawed British bums like the chump in your avatar. :rofl:rofl:rofl Danny Garcia KO Khan. :bbb
Typical boastful, over inflating, yearning to be relevant British response. Enjoy your golds now, because if/when any of this latest bunch of British frauds turns pro, they'll end up on their backs just like Hatton and Amir Con.
You don't count the Women in the men's boxing medal count. Ukraine performed the best with their 2 golds plus fighters getting robbed, Cuba also with 2 golds and some robberies, then GB with their 2 Gold and their continuous gifts throughout the competition. Joshua wouldn't have won that final in neutral territory.
Some of those Ukranian fighters deserved to lose just based on their stoooopid haircuts. **** all those commies! BBC "Is it true that USABoxing has given the AIBA $100 million in exchange for 10 gold medals at Rio 2016?" AIBA "NO, that is a lie!" USABoxing "Hell yeah, it's true and we better get our 10 damn golds!"
Scoring in the pros is alot worse, although with a 10 point scoring system alot of results would have been different, and no one from team USA this year will be a world champion, one of the worst American boxing showings ever. The medals overall were deserved, Joshua got lucky in his first fight.
