Production on their shows looks very good and they put some good domestic match ups on. I know they were in talks with Sky last year. Bet once Boxxer’s deal is up then Sky just stick up showing PPV cards from Saudi.
Even madder is very few eyes are watching DAZN UK in the UK and DAZN are losing millions and millions every year.
To be fair to him - their was nothing incorrect about that statement. They repeatedly report huge financial losses and it seems very suspect that they refuse to release any viewing figures - in an industry when traditionally any good numbers are shouted from the rooftops
It's a growing trend. Tech companies try very hard not to reveal any useful numbers and as of this year Netflix is refusing even to report subscriber growth after doing it for over 10 years. Ultimately whether they make or lose money is their business more than ours but you kind of want to know if the thing you pay for is going to go bust! BoxNation wasn't much better back in the day mind, Frank would say great things about it but then try to cancel your subscription...
You act like it's just DAZN, we never see viewing figures from TNT / TNT PPV shows (like Fury fights), PBC never release numbers for PPV and non PPV (when they were on showtime or Fox), ESPN & Top rank you never see numbers, same for sky PPV numbers recently like eubank williams etc, there is barely any numbers available across the whole sport in america and UK, the only numbers you see are free to air shows like channel 5 and when sky put it on free to air as they always have 7 figures, apart from that there is nothing.
Are you kidding? Regular (non-PPV) TNT and Sky show figures are always available via BARB. And audience figures for shows on linear TV in the States - so the majority Top Rank’s cards on regular ESPN, and PBC’s old shows on Showtime and Fox are very publicly available and reported on through Nielsen. Just because the promoter isn’t releasing them, doesn’t mean they aren’t there. Always debatable how accurate any of those are, but they’re widely accepted as the industry standards. PPV figures in the States almost always get reported by your boxing media - Coppingers, Rafaels etc. PPV numbers in the UK tend to be a bit of a mystery, but usually find a way of getting out if the promoter thinks they’re big enough and wants to shout about them. Streaming platforms have always been shrouded under cover for the most part, boxing or not, unless the platform wants to do a big PR splash if they’ve done mammoth numbers.
Haha, why should I do all the work you lazy git? Just cos Benson or Kugan aren’t sending you notifications, doesn’t mean they aren’t there if you look. Took me 30 seconds to find the viewing figures for Zayas v Teixeira this weekend, and the PPV buys for Fury v Usyk. Haven’t got access to BARB these days, but with a login you can easily see all the figures for non-PPV cards on Sky and TNT.
so you spent 30 seconds finding the fury usyk ppv buys but didn’t bother to post them when you made the effort to type a big paragraph? hmmm, someone is telling porky’s
BARB and Nielsen are subscription services. Sometimes the headlines from their reports get leaked out if there's a good story but the main body of data isn't public. BARB also showed viewing figures for PPV fights but not 'buys' as it's not part of their remit. One buy could be more than one viewer, depending how the households were surveyed.
Pretty sure you’re on a wind-up here and I’m being WHOOSHED, but if you’re just being ignorant, then here’s where I found out.
