This is for the vacant WBA international bantam title, which Negrete has been after for a while.

 

Round 1

Melián is throwing pincer combos at the midsection after circling left for a while and then swooping in, ducking past Negrete's jabs & rights. Melián is varying the speed, volume and snap on his jab, sometimes using it to range-find and sometimes just crunching it against Negrete's guard, letting it fold up like a contracted accordion while lumping rights onto the body. Negrete is stalking in 1st gear, pumping out jabs and 1-2s, and the occasional body hook squatting down with his feet glued in place.

Round 2

Melián is drifting to his left and working his jab on the fly, elastically, paddling the nose of Negrete with it. Constant pressure from Negrete but he isn't getting close or getting much of anything off. Melián employing lots of lateral movement, level changes, and throwing in combinations to preemptively stifle Negrete before he can rev up.
