Ego, he wanted to go into Peterson's backyard and beat him. Unfortunately it didn't work out and now they look like a bunch of amateur clowns.

Yeah and that did alright cos Paulie's from NY. But the Maidana and Judah fights flopped at the gate.

And Rico's spot on - it's more about Khan's sub-par performance than the location.

From a business stand point and from protecting a future asset in Khan for GBP, staging the fight in D.C was too much a risk.

If the fight became close, they ran the risk of home cooking to a fighter which really did not need to be fighting there in the first place being the champion, it was GBP job to ensure this.

You would not of found any other top champion doing this, Floyd, Manny, Bradley, play it safe and build your fighter up slowly.

Floyd's first PPV was against Gatti at the Boardwalk Hall and AC was Arturo's adopted home. All of his last 9 fights were there.

An undefeated Chad Dawson went to Montreal to take on Pascal. Even Hopkins had to go to Canada. Twice.

JMM took on Juan Diaz in Texas. GBP won the purse bids for Andrade/Bute II but they staged the fight in Canada cos it'd sell there.

Many felt Hopkins won the first fight in Canada, Paulie got robbed in Texas with Diaz.

Fair play JMM did not let to the judges vs Diaz.

Also got to remember Khan is a U.K Muslim fighter, not a U.S fighter.

Fact is , that went Khan stepped into that ring, he knew where he was at and he knew who he was facing. There were no suprises and no promoses. He held his own destiny in his hands and he failed to deliver. His loss is on him.

no they messed up by assuming Khan knew how to ****ing box and not just rely on pure athleticism to win.

Khan lost a fair fight, more match ups like this is what boxing needs.

A total irrelevance because Khan lost fair and square. You'd prefer a dishonest result in Bolton?
