Can you tell me why so many people are making such a big deal about Erislandy Lara?

Of all the Cuban Prospects....Lara and Yudel Johnson are the weakest IMO.

I believe Omar Henry and Shawn Porter even DeAndre Lattimore would beat LARA. Carlos Quintana who is now fighting at 154lbs would outbox Lara.

I just don't see it. He is now 10-0...And I have seen 8 of his fights. STILL WAITING TO BE IMPRESSED!!!!

I doubt Angulo is worried about Lara. Why would he be? He's already fought more established opponents.

His management might be though. What's the logic in fighting a guy with 9 fights when it doesn't improve his title aspirations? It's an unneccessary risk.

Personally I think Angulo is a tough night for anyone. Cintron was a BAD off night, he didn't have that spark. But on form he is double tough and comes all night.

Based on Lara's performance against Grady Brewer I'd say Angulo would knock Lara out. Grady's uppercuts stunned Lara. Angulo would take his head off.

As far as Grady's upper cuts, it's one of his best punches, and at the end of the 4th he nailed Lara with 3 in a row right on the chin. At the time I thought Lara was pretty much saved by the bell. Make no mistake, Brewer was a good win for Lara at this point, but it doesnt mean he is ready for Angulo. Lara might win the boxing match, but I'm pretty sure angulo would win the damn fight if ya know what I mean.

Lara is superfast and strong and is already far too good for eg Shawn Porter. I would back him against Angulo too. He would stand off him, counterpunch and frustrate him. Angulo`s instinct would be to "steam in" even more. Whoever said Angulo is tailor made for Lara is right.
When Brewer caught Lara at the end of the fourth Lara covered up and got tagged again;but he wasn`t hurt and was swinging when the bell went. IMO Lara will go all the way in that division and isn`t far away from a crack at the title now.

    BAD OFF NIGHT? :rofl

Brother, Angulo possibly did'nt win " a single round " against Cintron! When you have an off night you still can manage to bank a few rounds in your favor and a couple of solid punches but when you get " schooled " is not called an " off night "... ADMIT IT.

Just because Brewer hit Lara with a few " uppercuts " does'nt mean anything. If you see the fight again, you can clearly see that Lara was looking at Brewer all the time when he was covering himself, that means that he knew that it was coming. Also remember that Lara only trained " lightly " for that fight as his Cuban trainer Ismael Salas was extremely busy preparing Gamboa for Mtagwa, Lara fought possibly at a mere 60-70% and even like that he still KO Brewer... :good

Angulo did'nt win " anything " as an amateur and Lara is World Amateur Champ with over 300 amateur bouts under him, that too is a huge advantage against Angulo.

Angulo looked ordinary and " one dimensional " against Cintron. The problem is the high publicity that the media gave to Angulo regarding him as a " beast " and the next great boxer. Sure, he looked good against no bodies but against Lara is a whole different story...

If a B- boxer like Cintron " schooled " Angulo, then Lara TKO/KOs him !!!

No save by the bell. Lara was a little dizzy but was walking to his corner without help and was not falling. All the good Cuban amateurs have a great experience when they get hit hard, they start " running " in order to recuperate their legs, Casamayor was the perfect example of that! I am very sure that if that punch would had come in the early round, Lara would had moved a little to recover, that's all.
