GBP going to extreme lentghs to avoid Maidana vs Khan

I really think too much is being made of the Salita win.

Maidana is slow of hand, but who isn't compared to Khan, but his timing isn't half-bad. Maidana will be pushing Khan harder than Kotelnik, and once he gets him trapped on the ropes and in the corner then its anyone's game. Maidana is relentless, and is certainly a lot faster than Urango, even if his chin is not as good.

 

Fact is jmm was chasing payday in pbf fight (and fair ****ing play to him, long deserved). Pbf should hang his head in shame for that cherry pick. Jmm is best 135 in the world without doubtr but khan is too big and fast for him. Morales should stay retired also, his days are remembered for being a warrior and if he came back it'd be like having rjj back.

I hope khan clears his name (as a ducker) and fights maidana, and then take on jmm/malignaggi. After that a bout with the urango/alexander or bradley would be a great addition. I know its a lot to ask, but hey he is a world champ isn't he???

Maidana is relentless, but will get caught coming in time and time again. He will be throwing at fresh air the same way that Prescott was against Mitchell, and Prescott is much, much snappier than Maidana. I don't just think that Khan will outbox him, I think he stops him.

 

No one's saying Khan loses against Maidana, I mean there's a chance he gets caught by a big one, but I think he'd win. You just wanna see Khan in against a puncher. I'm not keen on Khan-JMM at all, I think it's a bit of a joke tbh, not as bad as MAB or Floyd-JMM but pretty close. JMM should stay at 135, simple. If it turns out JMM is able to operate at 140 against someone as quick as Khan and wins then fine, but do you really believe he will? Khan-Paulie intrigues me, but again it doesn't risk Khan's chin much. Point is, it's not about Khan not facing his mandos, it's about him not fighting anyone who'll genuinely test his chin. If he bypasses Maidana to fight someone like (although very out of this world, just an example) Valero, or even someone like Kendall Holt, then no one would bat an eyelid and would give Khan all the props he wanted. Instead he goes after a past prime lightweight and a fighter with pillows for hands.

 

Strange that, because it was after this fight that the hype went into overdrive. Seriously.:deal

 

Khan gives JMM much more of a fighting chance than even the great Floyd Mayweather. The fight will takes place at 140 where the Floyd fight was agreed at 145, with Floyd coming in at 146. Khan would come in around 139, already around 7 pounds lighter than Floyd thats like a weight class.

For me JMM is now a natural 135er so 140 is only 5 pounds off his natural weight. For the point of Khan ducking Maidana, I think if GBP said to Khan fight Maidana he would, If GBP said to Khan fight Bradley next he would, Khan I dont think fears anyone but GBP is running a business, Maidana is their fighter, and now so is Khan, they rather having both of them winning and making them money or risk losing or damaging their fighter in the short term, when further down the line they can set up a big fight if BOTH of them keep winning.

that's the problem, it's them who don't want khan to fight maidana yet, not khan himself.

 

Only by people who don't know what the hell they are talking about...Khan only threw three punches in the fight, obviously not enough to make any sort of judgement

 

Its pretty obvious that there wouldnt be this much of an uproar about not fighting Maidana if Khan had a decent chin.....I have little issue with them building this fight up.....JMM is a harder and better fight for Khan at this stage of his career.
