GBP is ruining boxing! Schaefer says Cotto/Canelo still possible.

Gomez had campaigned at heavier weights than Canelo when they fought.

Belts don't mean **** anyways even k9 has one but no one chasing him because people are not interested in canelos belt they want that money or else there would be fighter left and right wanting k9... Belts don't mean **** nowadays, so why put so much emphasis on it when each weight had 4 belts which is ridiculous and people don't put weight on it, even yall say he is a paper champ so if he is one let him be and don't hold him to high standards he obviously got the belt from Matthew ****ING Hatton so of u think canelo is ranked high cause of a meaningless belt ur wrong, he is ranked there the same as Lara because of perceived skill and talent. If you don't see him as a champ don't hold him to that regard and expect money fights to be the norm, if u hate it pay with your dollar canelo cotto is decent fight and yeah there is better but unfortunately boxing is so ****ed we have to settle and once in a while we get that big fight.

 

Very good post, most people are blinded by hate or are hardcore boxing fans that want the best with the best I'm on that category but like u o understand the boxing businesses of it and am realistic about the chances of canelo fighting trout over cotto which would be good for us, but for the business and boxing to thrive canelo cotto makes much more sense.

doubt it, won't be easy. I hope canelo fights trout, but understand money wise if they go with cotto.

 

Negative. Trout loses to Canelo. The problem is Trout has no drawing power and is a high risk/low reward guy without a name.

That said, I don't support a Canelo/Cotto fight now. Cotto would have to build himself back up first, like beat K9 for the IBF belt, then defend it against one or two top 10 guys before I'd approve of him fighting Canelo. If Canelo fought Cotto now after 2 straight losses, I wouldn't approve of that. The Trout fight also proved Cotto can't deal with the strength/size of a true 154 pounder. I thought Canelo would stop him before the Trout fight, and what happened in the Trout fight only confirms Cotto would get overpowered.

If/when the Canelo/Trout fight happens though, Trout gets beaten down. Hard. He won't be able to outmuscle or push Canelo back like he did Cotto, and Canelo's handspeed, power, and combinations/counterpunching will cause Trout big problems. Especially Canelo's right hand; Trout will be eating that all night until he gets stopped. Trout will lose, and then his golddigger fiancee will probably leave him when that happens, because it'll be clear his moneymaking days are over before they even got rolling.

it's a fight that's not meant to prove who the best is....meaningless fight.
