10-9 Báez, destroying the body, and not bothering much with headhunting, as when he does Pérez just rides them while spraying dangerous hooking counters, and has an iron chin anyway.

Báez has a nasty cut opened up in the seventh, could well be fight-ending...

He fights the whole second half of the round very tentative, until a huge right hand with twenty seconds left halts Pérez's march.

 

Báez probably juuuuuuuust edged the seventh, but it was super close.

So there's a cut by his eye and Báez's nose is shattered, bleeding from both nostrils from the accumulation of Pérez's uppercuts in the seventh.

His face just isn't able to hold up to his durability leaning in the pocket for these grueling power exchanges. The skin and subcutaneous tissue are just getting disintegrated.

 

Another round in which Pérez does some good work, targeting Báez's cut and making it close, but just getting edged out in terms of quality.

This is for the WBA Gold super featherweight title.

 

Round 1

Díaz is showing the right jab to his fellow southpaw, curling himself away, twisting counter-clockwise above the waist and wrapping his arms over his torso as he slips Cuadro's jabs and left crosses. Whipping right hook by Cuadro stepping in, caught on the back of the forearm. Díaz is now threading his way in headfirst around the Cuadro jab and then slicing past his defenses, scoring jabs and body shots, and getting out. Cuadro double-slaps a right hook downstairs and then brings up a left, which is blocked. Nice action but still a slow boil as they feel one another out. Jabs thrown & parried as they step together. Heavy overhand left by Cuadro, blocked.
